AUTOMATED PERITONEAL DIALYSIS SYSTEM HAVING LOAD CELL CALIBRATION
A dialysis machine operable with a disposable set having at least one container, the dialysis machine including a pump actuator operable to pump dialysis fluid to and/or from the at least one container; a weigh plate positioned to support the at least one container; a plurality of operational load cells positioned to support the weigh plate; a linear actuator positioned to apply a force to the weigh plate; a calibration load cell positioned to measure the force applied by the linear actuator; and a control unit in operable communication with the operational load cells, the linear actuator and the calibration load cell, the control unit configured to cause the linear actuator to apply the force to the weigh plate, compare resulting outputs from the operational load cells and the calibration load cell, and determine a calibration factor from the comparison for offsetting future outputs from the operational load cells.
CSF DIAGNOSTICS PLATFORM
The present disclosure generally relates to a system for flowing a fluid, e.g., CSF, from a body of a patient for sampling and analysis. In some embodiments, the system can include a diagnostic module having one or more conduits for flowing fluid therethrough. The flow of the fluid through the valves can be regulated using a control board that changes an orientation of valves disposed in the conduits between a dead-end orientation and a flow-through orientation to sample and/or analyze the fluid from the system. In some embodiments, the fluid can be recirculated into the system through one or more of the valves, with sampling and recirculating occurring substantially simultaneously.
Pneumatic system having noise reduction features for a medical fluid machine
A pneumatic system for a medical fluid machine operating a medical fluid cassette, the pneumatic system including an interface for supplying positive pneumatic pressure and negative pneumatic pressure to the medical fluid cassette; a source of positive pneumatic pressure; a source of negative pneumatic pressure; and a pneumatic pump including a first head and a second head, wherein the first head is dedicated to supplying positive pneumatic pressure to the positive pneumatic pressure source and the second head is dedicated to supplying negative pneumatic pressure to the negative pneumatic pressure source.
UTERINE DISTENSION FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH PERISTALTIC PUMPS
A pump cartridge for mounting on a drive rotor includes a roller assembly having first and second hubs maintained in a spaced apart relationship and defining an axis, and a plurality of planetary rollers arranged in a circumferentially spaced orientation about the axis, the rollers mounted to the hubs displacement radially outward. One or more compressible tubing lines are interposed between the rollers and an interior wall of the pump cartridge housing. The housing and the first and second hubs collectively define a passageway through which a spreader on the drive rotor extends and may be rotated relative to the roller assembly to displace the rollers radially outward to thereby compress the tubing lines against the interior wall. A coupling feature on the first hub engages a roller driving feature of the rotor, so that rotation of the rotor causes rotation of the roller assembly about the axis.
Dialysis machine
A hemodialysis machine comprising a fluid pathway for delivering a dialysate solution, wherein the fluid pathway comprises a pre-dialysis pathway and a post-dialysis pathway, a dialyser for dialysing patient's blood using the dialysate solution, the dialyser connected between the pre-dialysis pathway and the post-dialysis pathway, a first sensor system configured to sense a characteristic of the dialysate solution at a first location on the pre-dialysis pathway, a second sensor system configured to sense a characteristic of the dialysate solution at a second location on the post-dialysis pathway, and a control system configured to make a comparative analysis of the measurements taken by the first sensor and the second sensor for monitoring the composition of the dialysate solution.
Device with a peristaltic pump unit which can be coupled
A device for supplying and/or aspirating a fluid substance to or from a human or animal body is provided, which device has a drive unit with a drive, an attachment part, and coupling element. The attachment part has a peristaltic pump unit with a pump head having roller elements which are movable freely and independently of one another and serve for rolling on a hose. The coupling element serves to transmit a movement from the drive to the pump head. The pump head has a decoupled state in which the roller elements apply no or a comparatively low mechanical pressure to the hose, and a coupled state in which the roller elements are pressed by the coupling element against the hose with a comparatively high mechanical pressure.
Systems and Components for Regulating Fluid Infusion to a Patient
Various fluid delivery systems are described comprising an infusion pump having a housing with a first opening and a hollow interior portion that is configured to receive a cartridge having a tubing. A pump unit can be disposed within the housing. The pump unit comprises a motor mechanically coupled with a crank shaft or eccentric cam that is configured to move a set of pistons or other objects to thereby compress one or more portions of the tubing over time as the crank shaft or eccentric cam rotates.
CASSETTE FOR A CONSOLE OF AN OPHTHALMOSURGICAL SYSTEM, AND OPHTHALMOSURGICAL SYSTEM
A cassette for a console of an ophthalmosurgical system for treating an eye is configured for insertion into a cassette receiving region of the console and has a fluid pump configured to deliver a treatment fluid, a tube for attachment to a handpiece, and a connection unit secured against detachment, of a cassette-side end of the tube to a cassette housing of the cassette. The connection unit includes an attachment stub arranged on the cassette housing and has a through opening for the treatment fluid, and a plug-in connector arranged on the cassette-side end of the tube and likewise has a through opening for the treatment fluid, with the plug-in connector, when it is connected to the attachment stub, being held in a fluid-tight manner with respect to the attachment stub and so as to be able to rotate about a longitudinal axis of the through opening.
Infusion pump with program key
A wearable infusion pump allows a user to insert a program key into a housing of the pump to select a continuous dosage rate. Program keys are shaped to close contacts on a printed circuit board within the housing to communicate the selected dosage rate to a microprocessor. In this way, a single disposable pump, sold with one Stock keeping unit (SKU), can be used to deliver a plurality of dosage rates. The disposable pump is provided with an on-board display and a one-button on-board user operable control. In preferred embodiments, the infusion pump according to the invention may be used for continuous delivery of insulin in management of Type II diabetes.
