Pen-type drug injection device and electronic add-on monitoring module for monitoring and logging dose setting and administration
A monitoring device for monitoring operation of a drug delivery device and to a respective drug delivery device is presented in which a fastening member releasably attaches the monitoring device to an axially elongated housing of the drug delivery device, a sliding member is shiftable relative to the fastening member in an axial direction and being adapted to operably engage with at least one dose setting component of the drug delivery device to follow an axial displacement of the dose setting component relative to the housing component, a first sensor arrangement for detecting a rotation of the dose setting component relative to the fastening member, a second sensor arrangement for detecting an axial displacement of the sliding member relative to the fastening member, and a processing member coupled to the first and to the second sensor arrangements to process first and second signals obtainable from the first and from the second sensor arrangements for determining the size of a dose dispensed by the drug delivery device.
Emergency respiratory ventilator
An emergency respirator ventilator that comprising an air cylinder and piston/piston rod for compressing an air bag to transmit air to a patient, e.g., during situations where fully equipped ventilators are not immediately available.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING PRESENCE OF AN INFUSION CARTRIDGE IN AN INFUSION PUMP
Infusion devices, systems, and methods can detect a presence or absence of an infusion cartridge in an infusion pump. Embodiments may include a loading sequence, recording loading pulse width modulation (PWM) commands applied to an infusion pump motor during the loading sequence, setting a value of threshold PWM commands based on the commands applied during the loading sequence and comparing values of operational PWM commands applied during pumping operations to the value of the threshold PWM commands. If the value of the operational PWM commands drops below the threshold by a predetermined amount, a missing infusion cartridge warning may be generated.
A COMPLIANCE MONITOR FOR A DRY POWDER MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE
Some embodiments are directed to a compliance monitor for monitoring patient usage of a dry powder medicament delivery device, including a store of medicament housed within a main body portion, and a base portion which is rotatable with respect to the main body portion. The medicament delivery device also includes a medicament dispensing means for dispensing a dose of medicament into an inhalation chamber, a mouthpiece through which the dose of medicament may be inhaled by a user, and a replaceable cap. The compliance monitor includes a first portion for receiving and/or retaining the base portion of the medicament delivery device, and a second portion for releasably securing the medicament delivery device to the first portion. The arrangement and construction is such that the fitting of the second portion of the compliance monitor to the first portion of the compliance monitor does not include a screw fit.
Headgear tensioning for respiratory mask
Headgear for a patient interface includes at least one headgear strap and an indicator provided to the at least one headgear strap structured to indicate attainment of a desired adjustment setting of the headgear in response to headgear tension applied to the at least one headgear strap.
Remote diagnostics of respiratory therapy devices
A system and method is disclosed for performing diagnostics on patient devices. The patient devices may include respiratory therapy devices that operate in accordance with instruction sets, such as software or firmware. A server may maintain a database of diagnostic data indicating faults in one or more of a plurality of patient devices. The server may transmit this diagnostic data to one or more computing devices, including identification of faults that have occurred. The server may also transmit service data to the plurality of patient devices in order to address the identified faults.
Pharmaceutical injection device
The pharmaceutical injection device includes a pharmaceutical syringe mounting portion (3) provided within a main body case (2) and to which a pharmaceutical syringe (4) is removably mounted, a piston (5) provided movably with respect to the pharmaceutical syringe (4) mounted to the pharmaceutical syringe mounting portion (3), a drive mechanism (6) for driving the piston (5), a controller (7) that is electrically connected to the drive mechanism (6), a display section (35) that is connected to the controller (7), and an encoder (26) that is connected to the controller (7) and detects the amount of the pharmaceutical remaining inside the pharmaceutical syringe (4). The controller (7) displays a warning on the display section (35) recommending removal of the pharmaceutical syringe (4) from the pharmaceutical syringe mounting portion (3) when the presence of a pharmaceutical is detected by the encoder (26).
Dialysis machine and method of correcting the blood flow value
The invention relates to a dialysis machine having an extracorporeal blood circuit in which a dialyzer, a blood pump, and an arterial pressure sensor are arranged, wherein the dialysis machine furthermore has a compensation device by means of which the set value for the blood flow through the extracorporeal circuit can be corrected to a compensated value using the arterial blood pressure; wherein the dialysis machine furthermore has recognition means which are configured to recognize whether the arterial pressure sensor is connected to the extracorporeal blood circuit or not; and wherein the dialysis machine has an estimator unit which is configured to estimate a value for the arterial blood pressure if it is recognized by the recognition means that the arterial pressure sensor is not connected to the extracorporeal blood circuit.
System and method of detecting integrity of breathing systems for safe and optimal delivery
A system and to automate the integrity check of a breathing system and inform a ventilator to deliver a compensated gas volume, and alert the user if a vital component of a breathing circuit is absent or not fully connected. The system and method utilize an open RFID tag on a first point of connection and a conducting ring on the second point of connection such that when a circuit connection is made, the open RFID tag becomes active and provides an RFID reader with data regarding the circuit connection.
REMOTE DIAGNOSTICS OF RESPIRATORY THERAPY DEVICES
A system and method is disclosed for performing diagnostics on patient devices (720). The patient devices (720) may include respiratory therapy devices that operate in accordance with instruction sets, such as software or firmware. A server (710) may maintain a database of diagnostic data (718) indicating faults in one or more of a plurality of patient devices (720). The server (710) may transmit this diagnostic data (718) to one or more computing devices (760), including identification of faults that have occurred.
