The holder is configured to be tiltable with respect the cradle. The holder is inserted into the inner space of the cradle and then tilted to generate the aerosol.

Flow Balancing Devices, Methods, and Systems

The disclosed subject matter relates to extracorporeal blood processing or other processing of fluids. Volumetric fluid balance, a required element of many such processes, may be achieved with multiple pumps or other proportioning or balancing devices which are to some extent independent of each other. This need may arise in treatments that involve multiple fluids. Safe and secure mechanisms to ensure fluid balance in such systems are described.

REMOTE VENTILATOR ADJUSTMENT

Aspects of the technology include methods and systems for performing remote adjustments to a ventilator with a remote device. A remote device may include an interactive display including a remote position indicator. The remote position indicator may be associated or correlated with a local ventilator position indicator. A selection and/or adjustment at the remote device (or an activation at the remote device) at the interactive display may result in a selection, adjustment, or activation at the ventilator. Information may be transmitted to the ventilator from the remote device to remotely adjust the ventilator. Additionally or alternatively, the remote device may additionally display a view of, or replicate, some or all portions of the ventilator display.

Peritoneal dialysis systems, devices, and methods

A method of performing a dialysis treatment includes using a pump and a dialysate supply line to transport peritoneal dialysis fluid, the supply line having a proximal end into which peritoneal dialysis fluid is supplied and from which spend dialysate is withdrawn, and a distal end which is connected to a patient's peritoneal access. The method further includes generating proximal and distal pressure signals using pressure detectors located at both the proximal and distal ends, respectively, of said supply line. During a drain cycle in which spent dialysate is pumped from the patient, the method includes, responsively to the proximal and distal pressure signals, detecting a characteristic of a pressure difference between the distal and proximal ends whose magnitude is determined by a predicted change in dialysate properties, and responsively to the characteristic, generating a signal indicating the change in dialysate properties.

Test Device for Testing Functions of a Pump

The present disclosure relates to a test device to be inserted into the syringe receptacle of a pump, for example for a blood treatment apparatus, for testing at least one function of the pump and/or of the blood treatment apparatus. The test device includes a holding device for releasably holding the test device on the housing of the blood treatment apparatus. In addition, the test device includes at least one movable actuator and at least one electric motor arranged to directly or indirectly move said movable actuator or a section thereof.

Medical device having a detachable cover element

Medical device having a detachable cover element A medical device (1) for administering a medical solution to a patient comprises a housing (10), a receptacle (12) for receiving a pumping apparatus (3) for administering the medical solution to the patient, and a cover element (2) for covering the receptacle (12). The cover element (2), in a connected state, is pivotably connected to the housing (10) about a pivot axis (P) by means of a hinge connection, the hinge connection being releasable for detaching the cover element (2) from the housing (10). In this way a medical device is provided which may have an increased adjustability for use in different environments in a healthcare environment.

Acoustic frequency recognition of patient lines

A fluid injector system includes a powered fluid injector, a connection port configured to receive a single-use disposable set having tubing connected to a fluid inlet port at a first end and connected to a waste outlet port at a second end, and a detector associated with the connection port and configured to generate a signal in response to a sonic, infrasonic, or ultrasonic wave emitted from the single-use disposable set during a priming operation of the single-use disposable set. In some examples, the detector is configured to generate a signal if the frequency of the wave emitted from the single-use disposable set is outside a predetermined range of frequencies corresponding to a predetermined range of frequencies of air expelled from the tubing. A method for detecting the multiple uses of a single-use disposable set connected to a fluid injector system is also provided.

Drug delivery device and method of operation

A computerized electro-mechanical drug delivery device configured to deliver at least one dose of two or more medicaments. The device comprises a control unit. An electro-mechanical drive unit is operably coupled to the control unit and a primary reservoir for a first medicament and a secondary reservoir for a fluid agent, e.g. a second medicament. An operator interface is in communication with the control unit. A single dispense assembly is configured for fluid communication with the primary and the secondary reservoir. Activation of the operator panel sets a first dose from the primary reservoir and based on the first dose and a therapeutic dose profile, the control unit is configured to determine a dose or range of the fluid agent. Alternatively, the control unit determines or calculates a dose or range of a third medicament. Further, a dispense interface for use with a drug delivery device is disclosed.
