Container with product visualization aperture
10744720 · 2020-08-18 · ·

The present invention relates to a method for providing a product viewing window in a container. The container has at least a body ply and a liner ply, wherein the body ply has at least one aperture therethrough. The liner ply is adhered to the inner surface of the body ply and has a portion extending across the aperture, forming a window into the container. The method involves providing a window-finishing machine that comprises at least two platens and, optionally, a machine pocket positioned between them, a heating element extending through at least one of the platens, and a pressurized air device that is adapted to release pressurized air into the container through at least one of the platens. The container is engaged between the platens in an airtight manner and, optionally, the container window is positioned adjacent the inside wall of the machine pocket. The heating element heats the window of the container to the desired temperature, pressurized air is injected into the container such that the window is forced at least partially through the aperture of the container (and optionally into contact with the machine pocket wall), and the container window is then cooled to the desired temperature.

An insert-molded container in which a secondary container made of transparent synthetic resin is integrally provided to the outside of a primary container, the secondary container includes a gate mark, and a vapor-deposited layer is provided on the outer surface of the primary container in a peripheral area of the gate mark is manufactured by a manufacturing method of insert-molded container. The method includes: a cover attaching step of attaching a cover member made of transparent synthetic resin to the outer surface of a part of the primary container where a vapor-deposited layer is provided; a placing step of placing the primary container in a mold with the cover member facing a gate; and an insert molding step of injecting a transparent synthetic resin material from the gate.

PRESSURE-RESISTANT CONTAINER

The invention relates to a can containing a liquid and/or a gaseous medium which has positive pressure or develops such during transport or storage, wherein the cylindrical can shell of the can consists mainly of paper or cardboard material and is closed at the bottom with a bottom element and at the top with a cover element, wherein the can withstands an internal pressure of at least 5 bar, wherein the innermost layer of the can shell consists of a straight-wound barrier layer having a longitudinally extending folded seam, wherein the barrier layer is a prefabricated laminate made of an inner diffusion-tight barrier film or an inner diffusion-tight barrier laminate and an outer kraft paper layer.

POLYESTER FILM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

A polyester film includes a polyester (A) composed mainly of polybutylene terephthalate and a polyester (B) composed mainly of polyethylene terephthalate, wherein a mass ratio (A/B) between the polyesters (A) and (B) is 70/30 to 55/45, a dry heat shrinkage rate (B) through heat treatment at 200 C. for 15 minutes is 35% or less in any of four directions (0, 45 90 and 135) on the film surface, a difference between a maximum value and a minimum value of these dry heat shrinkage rates is 5% or less, a thickness variation in the four directions is 10% or less, and a crystallization index shown in DSC measurement is 25 to 55 J/g.

Plastic container with flexible base portion

Plastic container (110), including a side wall (120) and a flexible portion (132) of a base (130). The flexible portion of the base deflects when the sealed plastic container experiences a differential pressure. The deflection of the flexible portion of the base acts to change the internal volume of the container and thereby reduce the differential pressure. The container is a retortable container. The container may be injection-molded with inner and outer plastic layers (460,462) and a core layer (464) between the inner and outer plastic layers.

Rotomolded articles comprising at least one layer comprising a metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene resin

The present invention relates to a rotomolded article, comprising at least one layer, wherein said at least one layer comprising comprises at least one metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene resin comprising at least two metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene fractions A and B; and at least one ionomer; wherein the polyethylene resin comprises: at least 25% to at most 55% by weight of polyethylene fraction A based on the total weight of the polyethylene resin, wherein fraction A has a density at least 0.005 g/cm.sup.3 higher than the density of the polyethylene resin; and wherein the polyethylene resin has a density of at least 0.930 g/cm.sup.3 to at most 0.954 g/cm.sup.3 as measured according to ASTM D-1505 at 23 C.; a melt index MI2 of at least 1.0 g/10 min to at most 25.0 g/10 min as determined according to ISO 1133, condition D, at 190 C. and under a load of 2.16 kg. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing said rotomolded article.

ANTI-BLUSH AND CHEMICAL RESISTANT POLYESTER FILM

Embodiments herein relate to a polymer film comprising an anti-blushing composition in a blend comprising polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT); wherein the blend has an intrinsic viscosity above 0.75 and contains at least 50 wt. % of PBT; wherein the anti-blushing composition comprises a phosphorus containing compound but excludes certain phosphorus compounds; and wherein the anti-blushing composition is configured to prevent blushing in the polymer film laminated directly to a metal sheet and exposed to steam at a temperature of 260 F. for 90 minutes.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE HIGH-SPEED APPLICATION OF PAPER-BASED END CLOSURES ON COMPOSITE CONTAINERS
20240059436 · 2024-02-22 ·

A system for assembling a container and closure comprising an expanding collet which has a plurality of pivoting collet segments, each configured to simultaneously pivot radially outward about a pivot point and comprising. The collet comprises a lip that is engagable with the rim of the open end of the container and an angled tip positioned radially inward from the lip and shaped to press a countersink portion of the closure against an interior wall of the container as the collet segments pivot radially outward. As the container and the chuck are brought together, the rim engages with the lips of the collet segments and causes the angled tips of the collet segments to pivot outward toward the interior wall of the container, thereby pushing the countersink portion of the closure against the interior wall of the container.
