This invention relates to a polymer composition that is particularly suitable for use in the manufacture of thermoformed articles, which can be biodegraded in industrial composting. This invention also relates to a process for the production of the said composition and articles obtained thereby.
Pod processing device
A pod processing device includes a top plate having a first aperture, and a cutting plate having a top surface and a bottom surface. The cutting plate can be attached to the top plate such that the cutting plate is spaced a distance from the top plate. The cutting plate can include at least one cutting blade extending at an angle from the top surface of the cutting plate along a portion of the distance towards the top plate. The pod processing device can be used to remove the lid from a pod to facilitate composting of the contents of the pod.

A multi-cavity forming mould system for forming a plurality of discrete three-dimensional cellulose products from an air-formed cellulose blank structure. The forming mould system includes a first mould part and a second mould part arranged for cooperating with each other during forming of the cellulose products. The first mould part includes a plurality of first forming elements and the second mould part comprises a plurality of corresponding second forming elements movably arranged in relation to a base structure of the second mould part. The forming mould system is configured for establishing a plurality of forming cavities for the cellulose blank structure between each first forming element and corresponding second forming element during formation of the cellulose products. Each second forming element is arranged for interacting with a pressure member arranged in the base structure, where the pressure member is configured for establishing a forming pressure in each forming cavity onto the cellulose blank structure during formation of the cellulose products.

Method for manufacturing a beverage capsule with sealing ring
A method for manufacturing a beverage capsule with an outer sealing ring comprised of elastic material involves the following steps: (a) providing a capsule body with a peripheral, flange-like edge for attaching a sealing film; (b) providing a sealing ring comprised of elastic material and adjusted to the flange-like edge; (c) placing the sealing ring and the capsule body in a capsule mount of a sealing device for sealing the capsule body with the sealing film, with the sealing ring arranged between the capsule mount and the flange-like edge of the capsule body; (d) filling the capsule body with a beverage substrate; and sealing the capsule body with the sealing film and simultaneously fastening the sealing ring to the flange-like edge using the sealing device.
System and method for sealing a plastic enclosure
A method and apparatus for sealing a plastic enclosure is provided. The apparatus includes a handle including elements pivotally coupled together at a first end. The apparatus also includes a heating element positioned along an inner surface of an element and connected to a power source where a longitudinal axis of the heating element is oriented parallel with a longitudinal axis of the element. Plastic material including first and second plastic layers is positioned at an interface between the second elements. Upon pivoting the first elements from an open position to a closed position the heating element increases a temperature at the interface to melt the plastic material and form a seal between the first and second plastic layers.
DISPENSING CAPSULE AND METHOD AND APPARATUS OF FORMING SAME
In one example, a process for manufacture of a pulp-based dispensing capsule is disclosed. The process includes providing one or more mesh tool sets that are each contoured to one or more preform shapes of the dispensing capsule. Note that each preform shape is a partially shaped version of a final form shape of the pulp-based dispensing capsule. The process also includes providing a holding tank containing a suspension that includes water and pulp fibres; and arranging the mesh tool sets to allow immersion into and withdrawal of the mesh tool sets from the suspension. The process also includes applying a vacuum to the mesh tool sets so as to draw pulp fibres from the suspension onto the mesh tool sets while immersed in the suspension to form a preform pulp fibre mat; and in a second toolset, deforming each preform shape in the preform pulp fibre mat towards the final form shape by the application of pressure.
