METHOD AND INSTALLATION FOR PRODUCING A PORTION CAPSULE, AND PORTION CAPSULE FOR BEVERAGES AND FOODSTUFFS
The invention relates to a method for producing a portion capsule (2) for drinks and food products having a cup-shaped bowl (3) comprising a seal edge (30), a (31) and a covering face (32) and having a cup-base shaped filter element (4) which is inserted into the bowl (2) and in which a product is introduced, comprising the steps of: (a) forming a filter element (4) from a forming piece (42) comprising a filter material; (b) inserting the filter element (4) formed into a cup-shaped bowl (3); (c) connecting an edge of the formed filter element (4) to a seal edge (30) of the cup-shaped bowl (3); and (d) connecting the filter element (4) to the base (31) and/or the covering face (32) of the bowl (3). The invention further relates to an installation (1) for producing a portion capsule (2) and a portion capsule (2) for drinks and food products.
Polymer composition for the manufacture of thermoformed articles
This invention relates to a polymer composition that is particularly suitable for use in the manufacture of thermoformed articles, which can be biodegraded in industrial composting. This invention also relates to a process for the production of the said composition and articles obtained thereby.

Co-injection molded multi-layer article with injection-formed aperture between gate area and peripheral edge
Methods and systems for co-injection molding multilayer articles having one or more molded apertures disposed between a gate region and a peripheral region of the article are disclosed. The articles include an interior layer disposed between an inner layer and an outer layer. An article has interior layer coverage over at least 98% of a perimeter of a cross-section of the article downstream of the one or more molded apertures. A method includes modifying fluid flowing past an aperture-forming region of a mold cavity to compensate for the drag of the aperture-forming region on the velocity of the fluid flowing proximal to the aperture-forming region.
Snap Container for Pre-Portioned Product and Related Methods
A container for packaging a pre-portioned amount of liquid or dry product is provided that includes a one-piece outer casing defining an interior reservoir. The outer casing has a cylindrical shell that is closed at one end by a rounded tip and open at the opposing end with an open circular outer edge/rim defining a mouth. To fill the container, the product is introduced through the mouth into the interior reservoir; then opposing edges of the rim are compressed together and sealed with heat to create an elongated seal having two opposing ends. Multiple types of elongated seals are provided. In one aspect the outer casing is formed unitarily of a plastic resin. To open the container, the consumer squeezes the two opposing seal ends/termini toward each other; this deforms the elongated seal and causes the seal to snap open, which allows access to the product.
DISPENSING CAPSULE AND METHOD AND APPARATUS OF FORMING SAME
An apparatus for high speed continuous thermoforming of pulp materials into pulp based products including a beverage dispensing capsule comprising a body having a side wall and a base formed entirely of moulded pulp fibres, said apparatus comprising a holding tank for water and pulp fibres in suspension, a continuous feed belt of articulated mesh toolsets contoured to the preform shape of said products, said belt being inclined to allow partial immersion and partial withdrawal from said suspension by continuous rotation of said belt, vacuum means applied to said mesh toolsets to draw said pulp fibres onto said mesh toolsets immersed in said suspension to form a preform pulp mat of said product.
Capsule for dispensing beverages and method for its manufacture
It is described a capsule (10) for dispensing a beverage comprising: a main body (20) suitable for containing a product (P) to be dispensed, which comprises a bottom (22) and a side wall (24), extending from said bottom (22) and ending with an edge (26); a closing member (30) suitable for sealably closing said main body (20); and at least one first valve means (40) suitable for allowing the beverage to come out from the capsule (10) or for allowing a liquid to enter into the capsule (10). The main body (20) is made from cellulose pulp, the closing member (30) is made from biocompatible material and the capsule (10) further comprises a first sealing film made from edible material comprising at least one salt of alginic acid (23) and positioned inside said bottom (22) of the main body (20) at least at said at least one first valve means (40). It is also described a method for manufacturing a capsule for dispensing a beverage, as defined above.
Pouch forming mold configuration, method and pouch
A mold configuration for forming a pocket in a film comprising: a film support surface; a perimeter edge at said film support surface; wall surfaces inward of the perimeter edge defining a mold cavity; the wall surfaces including transition wall surfaces extending to a bottom wall surface; and a plateau surface inward of the perimeter edge. In one form, the perimeter edge includes sharp corner profile perimeter edge portions defining at least one sharp corner profile. A method of forming a pouch, includes using the disclosed mold configuration. A resultant pouch has a perimeter seal seam having at least one sharp corner profile.
Single serve beverage container
A container including a side wall having a hollow interior, an outwardly extending flange positioned above an upper end of the side wall, a lower end of the side wall having a first wall positioned thereon, a second wall extending upwardly from the first wall into the hollow interior of the side wall, a third wall extending inwardly and downwardly from the second wall, and a base extending inwardly from the third wall. A method of thermoforming the beverage container using a thermoforming operation is also provided.
COMPOSITIONS AND RESULTING HARD CAPSULES COMPRISING HYDROPHILIC COLORING FOODSTUFF CONCENTRATES
An aqueous composition for making dip-molded comestible hard capsules comprising a film forming capsule base material and one or more colorants each consisting of a hydrophilic coloring foodstuff concentrate.
