Transport device

The invention relates to a transport device (10) for piece goods, comprising a base part (14) which has a base plate (16) and side walls (18) which are elevated from the base plate (16) and are circumferential, the side walls (18) delimiting a placement surface of the base plate (16), a number of first compartments (22), wherein each of the first compartments (22) has circumferential walls (24) which each have a lower edge on the placement surface, an intermediate base (26) which bears on the first compartments (22) and has a downwardly projecting edge (28), which surrounds the first compartments (22) at upper edges (24b) of their circumferential walls (24), and an upwardly pointing further placement surface (30), a number of second compartments (32), wherein each of the second compartments (32) has circumferential walls (34) which each have a lower edge (34a) on the further placement surface (30), and wherein the first and second compartments (22, 32) are foldable for the purpose of volume reduction. The intermediate base (26) has two base parts (44, 46) which are connected to one another in an articulated manner, have each a part (50, 52) of the further placement surface (30) and are pivotable relative to one another about a pivot axis (48) up to a contact of the parts (50, 52) of the further placement surface (30), wherein each of the base parts (44, 46) has a rectangular or square contour, one side (56, 58) of which is shorter than both sides of the placement surface and the other side (60, 62) of which is shorter than at least one of the sides of the placement surface.

Structural block assembly

A block assembly for connecting a first section and a second section of a load bearing assembly includes a male fitting and a female fitting. The male fitting includes a male fitting body and a projection extending from the male fitting body. The female fitting includes a female fitting body and defines a fitting cavity extending within an interior of the female fitting body. The male fitting couples with the female fitting by inserting the male fitting body within the fitting cavity and moving the male fitting body toward a base of the female fitting. The projection on the male fitting interacts with an interlocking joint on the female fitting to resist detachment of the male fitting with respect to the female fitting.

Pallet

A pallet having excellent thermal insulation performance and cushioning property with respect to goods-conveyed while ensuring the strength of the outer surface of the pallet. The pallet includes a plate-like pallet body made of foamed resin, the plurality of legs provided on the bottom surface of the pallet body, and the resin sheet integrated from the bottom surface side of the pallet body by vacuum-forming. Further, the top surface of the pallet body includes the loading surface on which goods-conveyed are placed, and the step portion formed in a shape down-step from the outer peripheral edge of the loading surface to the side surface of the pallet body. The resin sheet covers the bottom surface of the pallet body, the legs, the side surface and the step portion of the pallet body, and the loading surface is not covered with the resin sheet.

PALLET AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

In a pallet manufacturing method, variations of pallets, having different thicknesses of pallet bodies, heights of legs, or foaming ratios thereof, are manufactured at low cost and with high quality. The method includes a pallet body molding step for molding a plurality of the pallet bodies of a plurality of types having different thicknesses or expansion ratios of foaming; a leg molding step for molding, separately from the pallet body, a plurality of legs of a plurality of types having different heights or expansion ratios of foaming; and a vacuum forming step for forming a resin sheet for covering and integrating the pallet body and the legs from a bottom surface side of the pallet by vacuum integral forming after the pallet body and the legs are selected, respectively, from the plurality of types and assembled in a state that the legs are mounted on the pallet body.

The molding method includes providing a first resin with a photocuring property and providing a second resin with a thermosetting property. The first resin contained in a first composite material is cured by irradiating the first composite material with light, then the second resin is cured by heating the second resin contained in a second composite material. The curing of the first resin contained in the first composite material is completed before starting the curing of the second resin contained the second composite material that is adjacent to the first composite material of a surface layer.

The invention is directed to an overmolded two-component friction element in a plastic pallet and to a method for forming the pallet. The friction element includes a rigid outer carrier member and an elastomeric material that is exposed at one or more ends. The friction element is first formed in an injection mold, and then is placed in a pallet mold. Resin is injected into the pallet mold around the sides of the friction element leaving the exposed elastomeric material form part of the pallet surface.

A pallet is formed in which one or more components thereof is formed of a composite material. The composite material includes mass particles consisting of a fibrous material derived at least in part from recycled post-consumer materials and a binding material consisting of a thermoplastic material derived at least in part from recycled post-consumer materials. The mass particles and the binding material are mixed such that the binding material is liquified and each mass particle is fully encapsulated by the liquified binding material.

ADDITIVE PROCESSES FOR MODIFYING A SURFACE OF AN ARTICLE

Processes for modifying a surface geometry of a thermoplastic part are provided. One process includes placing a thermoplastic part in proximity to a head of an extruder; positioning the extruder head relative to a surface of the thermoplastic part; extruding plasticized material from the extruder head to the surface of the thermoplastic part such that the plasticized material exerts a first melt pressure on both of the extruder head and the thermoplastic part; moving the extruder head from a first position to a second position corresponding on the surface; producing a portion of plasticized material having a thickness that is substantially constant between the first position and the second position; and cooling the plasticized material to fuse it to the surface. The head may be movable on guide rails, and the surface and head may be urged to a predetermined position relative to each other by one or more springs.
