Bag with gripping bands
A closure for closing a bag and a die head and method for making the closure. The closure includes two closure members having support walls and mating interlocking profiles. The support walls are resilient and have self-retaining forms in vertical section including middle sections curving outwardly away from one another when mounted on a bag. Top portions of the support walls extend outwardly away from one another to form gripping panels when the closure is closed. A die head for forming a closure member includes a body that defines a slot including a support wall segment for forming the support wall of the closure member. The support wall segment includes first and second portions oriented transverse to one another and intersecting at a vertex. To form the closure member, polymer is extruded through the slot and quenched.
SNAP-TYPE FASTENER ARRANGEMENT
A snap-type fastener arrangement includes various elements. For example, the snap-type fastener arrangement includes a socket component and a stud component. The stud component is insertable into the socket component to releasably couple two items together. The snap-type fastener includes a construction having a relatively low profile that does not extensively protrude outward from the underlying article to which the snap-type fastener is attached. The socket component includes a portion for securing the socket component to a textile layer and a central portion that extends through the textile layer. The stud component may be inserted into a socket aperture in the central portion of the socket in order to mate the two components.
TWO-PART FASTENER
A fastener including a pin and a grommet. The pin is pre-engaged to the grommet with at least one flash connection, the pin is configured to be secured to the grommet at least by the flash connection being broken, and one of the pin or the grommet moves relative to the other of the pin or the grommet to break the at least one flash connection. Further, the pin is configured to engage and be secured to a first component and the grommet is configured to engage and be secured to a second component.

Two-part fastener
A system for manufacturing a two-part fastener may include a fastener-molding housing and an actuating assembly. The fastener-molding housing may include a fastener mold having a first mold section connected to a second mold section through a flash connection mold section. The fastener mold is configured to receive fastener-forming material to form a pre-engaged fastener having a first fastener portion within the first mold section and a second fastener portion within the second mold section. The first fastener portion is temporarily secured to the second fastener portion through a flash connection portion formed within the flash connection mold section. The an actuating assembly includes a stripper plate, a connecting member, and at least one ejection member. The connecting member is configured to securely retain the first fastener portion. The stripper plate is configured to be moved relative to the connecting member in order to drive one of the first or second fastener portions into the other of the first or second fastener portions to form a fully-formed fastener. The ejection member is configured to eject the fully-formed fastener from the actuating assembly.
Easily Recyclable Thermoplastic Housing
The invention relates to a housing assembly based on polycarbonate material, of which at least the front cover and the back cover are easily recyclable due to its separability into different parts for all components which are attached to the front cover or the back cover and which cannot be recycled together with the front cover or the back cover, respectively. Snap-fits, interference-fits, predetermined breaking points and other means are used for an easily detachable, but for use safe connection of the single parts.
Fastener Clip Assembly for Molding and Engaging Blades
A system and method including a fastener clip, including inserting a fastener clip inside an injection mold cavity to use as part of the injection mold cavity. The fastener clip is inserted into the injection mold cavity where a blade is to be formed on a plastic component. The fastener clip is configured to engage and couple to the blade and to the plastic component and to engage and couple to a slot in a structure. Also included is injecting flowing plastic into the fastener clip and the injection mold to form the lade. At least a portion of a contour of a surface of the blade follows a contour of an inner surface of the fastener clip.
Extruded sealed fastener
A method of forming a plurality of fasteners includes extruding a continuous strip of material, the continuous strip defining a base portion, a tip portion, and a stem portion extending between the base portion and the tip portion. A portion of material is removed from the continuous strip of material along the tip portion such that a plurality of tip portions are separated from each other and spaced apart, each tip portion having at least one flexible tab. The continuous strip of material is then extruded through a foaming die, wherein the flexible tabs are elastically displaced away from the base portion during a foaming process such that a foam material fills a cavity of the foaming die to form a sealing element around the stem portion. Portions of the continuous strip between each of the tip portions are separated to produce a plurality of individual sealed fasteners.
PLASTIC CLIP AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTION
The plastic clip 1 comprises a strip of plastic material 2 defining a tapered slot 3 extending from an inlet 4 at the edge of the strip 2 to an internal terminal position 5 in the strip 2. The width of the tapered slot 3 at the inlet 4 is wider than the width of the tapered slot 3 at the internal terminal position 5. The tapered slot 3 provides a clamping surface for clamping articles positioned within the tapered slot 3 and holding them in place.
Combination blow molded bottle retained on and partially retained in an injection molded container
A combination two primary section apparatus including a blow molded bottle first top section press fit partially retained within an interior chamber of an injection molded container second bottom section. The resulting present invention two-piece molded container has the aesthetically pleasing benefits of a container made of plastic but appearing to be made of glass. An upper top surface of the blow molded bottle first top section is visible while a bottom portion concealed by the injection molded container second bottom section is not visible.
