Dry-powder inhalation device
A dry-powder inhalation device including a casing having at least one push button located on an external portion thereof, the push button including at least one pin structure, an air inlet located at a first terminus of the casing; a powder delivery port located at a second terminus of the casing and is positioned distal to the air inlet; and an elongated support panel located within an interior of the casing and being fitted within the casing so as to partially rotate therein about a single axis. The support panel has at least one compartment containing dry-powder located proximal to the first terminus, and the at least one pin structure is located proximal to the air inlet and arranged above the dry-powder compartment. The compartment with a dry-powder includes a blister structure encasing the dry-powder, whereby airflow through the device causes the elongated support panel to partially rotate repeatedly within the casing, thereby striking the plurality of needle-like structures and releasing the dry-powder in the airflow.
Contact Trigger Release Needle Guard with Elastic Spring
A needle guard device mountable to a pre-filled syringe in its ready-to-fill state. The device includes a device shield interconnected to a lock collar with flexible member and biased to move relative to the lock collar. The lock collar interfaces with the syringe neck to attach the device to the syringe. As the device shield moves proximally, rotation arms of the lock collar interact with angled cutouts in the device shield, causing the device shield to rotate relative to the lock collar and disengaging one or more keys on the device shield from one or more keyways in the lock collar triggering the device shield to move from a first configuration in which the device shield is retractable to expose a syringe sharp to a second configuration in which the device shield is fixedly positioned to cover the syringe sharp.
Dry-powder inhalation device
An improved dry-powder inhalation device having a casing having an air inlet located at a first terminus; a powder delivery port located at a second terminus, which is positioned distal to the air inlet; and an elongated support panel located within an interior of the casing and being fitted within the casing so as to partially rotate therein about a single axis. The support panel has at least one compartment containing dry-powder located proximally to the second terminus, and the casing has a plurality of needle-like structures located proximal to the delivery port and arranged above the dry-powder compartment. The compartment with a dry-powder includes a blister structure encasing the dry-powder, whereby airflow through the device causes the elongated support panel to partially rotate repeatedly within the casing, thereby striking the plurality of needle-like structures and releasing the dry-powder in the airflow.
Retractable Syringe With Improved Delivery Efficiency And Locking System
A plunger, a needle assembly and a retractable syringe comprising same are provided. The plunger comprises a plunger member and a plunger outer having a lock spring that prevents or impedes movement of the plunger member after needle retraction. The plunger further comprises another locking member for engaging the barrel to prevent or impede further movement of the plunger outer after delivery of fluid contents. The plunger member has a plunger seal which engages a retractable needle of the needle assembly for retraction. The retractable needle comprises a cannula and needle body with a plurality of fluid channels that co-operate with a fluid conduit of the plunger seal to efficiently direct fluid to the cannula. A needle retainer comprises a plurality of barbed arms releasably coupled to the needle body, whereby an ejector with tabs facilitates release of the retractable needle from the needle retainer to allow compressed spring-driven retraction.
Blister advancement mechanism comprising an actuator plate
The present invention relates to improvements made in the blister advancement mechanism of dry powder inhaler devices. A dry powder inhaler device mechanism comprising an actuator plate and a transmission wheel is provided.
MEDICAL CONNECTOR WITH INTERNAL VALVE MEMBER MOVABLE WITHIN MALE PROJECTION
Disclosed herein is a valve assembly comprising a male luer end portion and a female luer end portion and a passage for the transfer of fluids extending between the male and female luer end portions, valve means movable between a first position, in which the passage is closed, and a second position, in which the passage is open, biasing means for biasing the valve means toward the first position, and actuating means extending into the male luer end portion and coupled to the valve means to actuate the valve means when a female luer end portion of a medical accessory is engaged with the male luer end portion.
CODED COLLAPSIBLE DRUG RESERVOIR
A coded collapsible drug reservoir and a drug delivery system including the coded collapsible drug reservoir. The drug reservoir includes a collapsible housing and a port in communication with the collapsible housing. The drug reservoir further includes a coding feature disposed on the drug reservoir, and the coding feature identifies the drug reservoir.
PERIMETER FILL SYRINGE
A perimeter fill syringe is disclosed, wherein the syringe includes a solid core, allowing fluid to fill an area around the perimeter of the syringe barrel, enabling a wider diameter for the barrel thus increasing the visibility of the markings and ease of handling by a user.
Inhaler
An inhaler comprising a housing defining a chamber to receive a strip having a plurality of blisters each containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user is disclosed. It comprises an inhaler comprising a housing to receive a strip having a plurality of blisters, each blister having a puncturable lid and containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, a mouthpiece mounted to the housing and through which a dose of medicament is inhaled by a user, a blister piercing member mounted for rotation about a first axis and an actuating mechanism including an actuating lever mounted for rotation about a second axis to sequentially move each blister into alignment with the blister piercing member, wherein the actuating lever co-operates with the blister piercing member so that the blister piercing member pivots about said first axis in response to rotation of the actuating member from an initial position about the second axis to puncture the lid of an aligned blister so an airflow through the blister is generated to en-train the dose contained therein and carry it, via the mouth-piece, into the users airway when a user inhales through the mouthpiece. The inhaler comprises an actuating lever load control member to control the force that must be applied to the actuating lever to cause it to rotate from its initial position such that a biasing force is applied to the actuating lever throughout all, or at least a substantial portion of, the stroke of the actuating lever.
