Portable hemodialysis machine and disposable cartridge
A portable hemodialysis system is provided including a disposable cartridge and a reused dialysis machine. The disposable cartridge includes a dialyzer, and a dialysate flow path and a blood flow path which flow in opposing directions through the dialyzer. The disposable cartridge includes pressure and fluid flow sensors for measuring the pressure and fluid flow in the dialysate flow path and blood flow path. In addition, the disposable cartridge possesses pump actuators (but not pump motors) for pumping dialysate and blood through their respective flow paths. Preferably, the disposable cartridge includes a filter for removing waste products from dialysate.
METHODS FOR GENERATING AND DELIVERING DROPLETS TO THE PULMONARY SYSTEM USING A DROPLET DELIVERY DEVICE
A droplet delivery device and related methods for delivering precise and repeatable dosages to a subject for pulmonary use is disclosed. The droplet delivery device includes a housing, a reservoir, and ejector mechanism, and at least one differential pressure sensor. The droplet delivery device is automatically breath actuated by the user when the differential pressure sensor senses a predetermined pressure change within housing. The droplet delivery device is then actuated to generate a stream of droplets having an average ejected droplet diameter within the respirable size range, e.g, less than about 5 m, so as to target the pulmonary system of the user.
Electronic vaporiser system
An electronic cigarette vaporiser that is the same approximate size as a cigarette and has a square or rectangular cross-section with rounded corners and includes a long PCB inserted lengthwise into the vaporiser. The PBC is not mounted at the mid-point of the cross-section, but at a different position closer to a major face of the vaporiser to permit more room for a rechargeable battery. The cross-section is a squircle.
BREAST PUMP ASSEMBLY AND METHODS
Systems and methods for pumping milk from a breast, wherein the milk is expressed from the breast under suction and milk is expulsed from the pumping mechanism to a collection container under positive pressure.
Coded collapsible drug reservoir
A coded collapsible drug reservoir and a drug delivery system including the coded collapsible drug reservoir. The drug reservoir includes a collapsible housing and a port in communication with the collapsible housing. The drug reservoir further includes a coding feature disposed on the drug reservoir, and the coding feature identifies the drug reservoir.
Electronic vaporiser system
An electronic cigarette vaporizer system operable in a power mode to increase the amount of vapor produced by a vaporizer that forms part of the system, compared to normal, whilst monitoring the temperature of a heating element in the vaporizer to ensure that excessively high temperatures, associated with undesirable compounds in the vapor produced by the heating element, are not reached. The system includes a button or sensor that alters the operation of the heating element in such a way as to increase the vapor produced, compared to normal.
Electronic vaporiser system
An e-liquid cartridge designed to provide e-liquid for an electronic cigarette vaporizer system, the cartridge including a chip that stores and outputs (i) a unique identity for the cartridge and/or (ii) data defining the e-liquid stored in the cartridge, and the cartridge being adapted to be inserted into or form an integral part of the electronic vaporizer system. The data stored and output by the chip defines one or more of: flavor, nicotine strength, manufacturing batch number, date of manufacture, date of filling, tax data, quantity of e-liquid stored in the cartridge.
PEN-TYPE DRUG INJECTION DEVICE WITH CONTROLLER AND TIME LOCK-OUT MECHANISM FOR ITS DRIVE
The present invention relates to a drive mechanism for a drug delivery device, comprising: a piston rod to operably engage with a piston of a cartridge to displace the piston in a distal direction during a dose dispensing action, at least one actuation member mechanically coupled with the piston rod to induce a distally directed displacement of the piston rod when actuated by a user, a control to ascertain at least one predefined condition of use, and at least one interlock member coupled with the control to mechanically obstruct displacement of the piston rod if the condition of use is not fulfilled.
INJECTION DEVICE, IN PARTICULAR AN AUTO-INJECTOR
The invention relates to an auto-injector with a base housing (2), a carpule (6), a needle arrangement (7), at least one drive assembly (8) and a securing assembly (9) which secures the drive assembly (8) in its position with respect to the base housing (2) until activated for the injection procedure. The securing assembly (9) comprises a securing cap (12) with a cap jacket (14), a cap wall (15) and a securing pin (16) arranged inside the cap jacket (14). Arranged between the securing cap (12) and the base housing (2) is a guide arrangement (17) with a first and a second guide element (19, 20) which define an adjustment path (18) delimited in the axial direction on the side directed away from the distal end (3). In its release position, the securing cap (12) is still arranged and held on the base housing (2).
