The frame includes a primary part which is in the form of a hard component and features an exterior profile where the primary part has at least one inner profile line with at least one notch and/or one protrusion extending from the peripheral side of the glazing panel to the center of the window unit. The primary part is capable of being fixed onto another object like a car body, a decorative object, a building, a door frame, or the like.

Light-transmissive plastic plate structure with curved surface and method for fabricating the same

The invention refers to a light-transmissive plastic plate structure suitable for vehicle sunroof with curved surface and a method for fabricating the same. By using polymer material formulation, UV resistant coating formulation and precision coating technology, the wear resistance of polymer surface of plastic substrate can be improved to the same level as glass, and the original optical and physical properties after various environmental tests can also be maintained. The plastic substrate is first formed into a curved plastic plate through a hot pressing process, and then a connecting structure is formed and fixed on the plastic plate by an insert-molding injection process, in order to replace the traditional car sunroof mechanism which is assembled by glass plate bonded with metal connecting parts. The light-transmissive plastic plate structure with curved surface comprises a lightweight polymer sunroof and a lightweight plastic connecting structure fixed to the sunroof by insert-molding injection, which can reduce the weight of traditional glass sunroof, front and rear windshield, and side window glass assembly, and is particularly suitable for use in oil-electric hybrid vehicles and pure-electric vehicles that require lightweight specifications.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AUTOMOTIVE GLASS WITH MEMBER, AND SUPERHEATED STEAM CHAMBER USED IN MANUFACTURING OF AUTOMOTIVE GLASS WITH MEMBER

Provided is a method for producing automotive glass with a member having a U-shaped cross section in a highly efficient and space-saving manner. The present invention relates to a method for producing automotive glass with a member by curing an adhesive for bonding an adherend 21 having a U-shaped cross section to an edge portion 20a of automotive glass 20, using a superheated steam generator 1. The superheated steam generator 1 includes a boiler part 2 for generating steam, a superheating unit 3 for superheating steam generated in the boiler part 2, and a superheated steam chamber 10 having a groove portion 111 for covering the edge portion 20a of the automotive glass 20 and including superheated steam ejection portions 12 for ejecting superheated steam supplied from the superheating unit 3. The step of curing the adhesive comprises covering the edge portion 20a of the automotive glass 20 together with the adherend 21, with the groove portion 111 of the superheated steam chamber 10, and spraying superheated steam to the adherend 21 from both sides of automotive glass 20 from the superheated steam ejection portions 12.

Glazing having switchable optical properties

A glazing having switchable optical properties is described, including a transparent substrate having an outer surface and an inner surface, a reflection layer on the outer surface and/or on the inner surface and a switchable functional element arranged on the interior side with respect to the reflection layer. The reflection layer contains a material having a refractive index n.sub.R of 1.6 to 2.5. The product of the refractive index n.sub.R and the thickness d of the reflection layer is from 250 nm to 960 nm.

Method for producing a plastic vehicle part

A method for producing a plastic vehicle attachment part is described, such that a polymeric film is laid in an injection mold, the polymeric film having an opaque or semi-opaque imprint or a color pigmentation. The polymeric film is back injected with a polymeric covering part, wherein the polymeric covering part is optically transparent. A polymeric carrier part is sprayed at least on a part of the surface of the polymeric covering part facing away from the polymeric film. A protective layer is applied at least on the polymeric film.

INDUSTRIAL MACHINE FOR APPLYING TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT PROTECTIVE FILMS TO PLANAR SURFACES ACTING SIMULTANEOUSLY ON TWO FACES, HAVING A SYSTEM FOR CUTTING THE FILM AND POSITIONING EDGE-TO-EDGE OR WITH A MARGIN, AUTOMATICALLY ADAPTING TO SUIT CHANGES IN THE PARTS THAT ARE TO BE TREATED, USING AN ELECTROSTATIC METHOD
