A respiratory treatment device includes a blower for providing flow of breathable gas to a patient and one or more accessory devices. The respiratory treatment device includes active power management to distribute power from a power source that does not have sufficient power to simultaneously power the blower and the accessory devices. The active power management prioritizes power to the blower and limits, based on current measurements of the blower and the accessory devices, the power supplied to the accessory devices to keep the sum of the power drawn at or below the capacity of the power supply. When additional power is available, due reduced power consumption of the blower, the power to one or more accessory devices is raised beyond a target in order to compensate for when power was not supplied to the one or more accessory devices.

The inline heater includes a fluid flow channel defined by a conduit for flowing an infusible liquid through a first portion of the conduit having a first cross-sectional dimension to a second portion of the conduit having a smaller second cross-sectional dimension. A nozzle is disposed in the first portion of the conduit. A heating element in thermal communication with an outer surface of the second portion of the conduit conducts heat through the conduit into the infusible liquid. The nozzle is positioned to spray the infusible liquid about a circumference of an inner wall of the second portion of the conduit to provide increased heat transfer from the heating element to the infusible liquid. The inline heater may be formed as a cassette for use in a dialysis machine.

Systems and methods for cleansing blood are disclosed herein. The methods include acoustically separating target particles from elements of whole blood. The whole blood and capture particles are flowed through a microfluidic separation channel formed in a thermoplastic. At least one bulk acoustic transducer is attached to the microfluidic separation channel. A standing acoustic wave, imparted on the channel and its contents by the bulk acoustic transducer, drives the formed elements of the blood and target particles to specific aggregation axes.

The capsule further contains at least one mixing mechanism that mixes the substances and the pressurized gas after the valve is reconfigured to the active configuration.
