Apparatus and method for separating substances of different flowability that are mixed together
An apparatus configured to separate substances comprising: a frame structure; a hollow drum, wherein the hollow drum is driven in rotation and comprises a perforated circumferential surface and an at least partially open end side; a press belt wrapped around the perforated circumferential surface; a product intake wedge, wherein the product intake wedge guides a product flow into the apparatus; a support apparatus comprising a support element, wherein the support element is located on a side of the press belt opposite the hollow drum; and a device configured to discharge separation material pressed through the perforated circumferential surface, wherein: the separation material is pressed into a hollow space of the hollow drum, the separation material is pressed from the end side of the hollow drum, and a cooling device cools the separation material with a cryogenic cooling medium.

Device and method for separating substances of different flowability that are mixed together
An apparatus for separating mixed together substances of different flowability has a frame structure and a hollow drum with a perforated circumferential surface driven in a revolving manner and mounted on the frame structure. A pressing element lies externally in the region of the circumferential surface of the drum and is driven in a revolving manner, such that the drum and the pressing element form a product intake wedge for the feeding in a product stream, of material to be pressed. The drum and pressing element also form a pressing region. A discharge element is associated with the pressing element downstream of the pressing region in the product stream conveying direction, for discharging residues that remain on the pressing element after pressing. The discharge element is an actively drivable, endless discharge belt for discharging the residues in a discharge direction. A corresponding method is also provided.
Twin screw extruder press for solid/fluid separation
Disclosed is a solid/liquid separation apparatus including an extruder press combined with a solid/fluid separation module for separating fluid from a mass of solids compressed by the extruder at elevated pressures. The extruder includes two or more extruder screws with flighting intercalated at least along a part of the extruder barrel. The separation module forms a continuation of the barrel, receives the pressurized mass and at least a portion of the twin screws, and includes a filter pack consisting of a filter plate and a backer plate. The filter plate has a throughgoing filter slot extending away from a core opening and into the filter plate for directing fluid away from the core opening. The backer plate has a core opening shaped and sized equal to the barrel and defines a passage for guiding fluid collected in the filter slot to an exterior of the filter pack.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TREATMENT OF AGRICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATERS CONTAINING SOLIDS AND NUTRIENTS
A method and system of treatment of agricultural and industrial wastewaters that contain high concentrations of suspended solids, nitrogen, and phosphorus compounds is disclosed. The method and system includes pre-treating the wastewater, controlling the amount of coagulants used, and controlling the mean velocity used for mixing, surface loading rate, and solids loading rate. The method and system functions as a sedimentation unit and gas flotation unit (solid/liquid separator). The pH of the effluent wastewater is stabilized within the separator by ensuring that there is sufficient alkalinity to buffer the wastewater. Sufficient gas is produced in the coagulation reactions to float and concentrate the solids, which results in as high as 99 percent reduction in suspended solids, a 96 percent reduction of the phosphorus concentration, and a 50 percent reduction of the nitrogen concentration in the effluent from the separator.

CONVEYOR-BELT FILTER DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SETTING A TENSION AND/OR A SLACK OF AT LEAST ONE CLOSED MEANS OF TRACTION
An apparatus and associated method for mechanically cleaning a liquid polluted with solids, which is flowing in a channel. The apparatus includes a filter belt and a frame having a lower part and an upper part. The lower part and the upper part are adapted to adjust the deflection of the filter belt, the filter belt being guided over the lower part and the upper part and being movable along a circulatory path formed on the frame. The filter belt includes a chain and a plurality of filter elements disposed on the chain. The apparatus includes a gauge having at least one measuring unit for measuring a tension or a slack of the chain.
