Apparatus and method for transforming solid waste into useful products
A system and method for processing solid waste disposal includes a hydrolyzer (80) and an injection assembly (30) for transferring waste to the hydrolyzer (80). The injection assembly (30) includes a sleeve (40), in which waste is compressed with a ram (37), and a movable gate (52), which opens to allow the compressed waste (68) to exit the sleeve (40) and enter the hydrolyzer (80). The hydrolyzer (80) includes a pressure vessel (84), a rotating shaft (108) contained within the vessel (84), and agitates attached to the shaft for moving and processing the material through the hydrolyzer (80).
Method and apparatus for measuring the weight of a container using load cells
An apparatus for measuring the weight of a container, such as a large trash compactor, includes a base plate and a loading fixture. The loading fixture is carried by the base plate, and includes a floating plate, at least one piston coupled to the floating plate, and a pressure transducer for generating a selected signal based upon pressure in the piston.
Baler and a rotary drive transmission for a baler
A rotary drive transmission is provided for a baler including a bale chamber, a plunger that compresses bale material in the bale chamber, a drive mechanism that drives reciprocating movement of the plunger, and a flywheel connected to a rotary input of the drive mechanism. The rotary drive transmission includes a rotary drive part, a rotary driven part that drives rotation of the flywheel, and a torsional drive transfer device that transfers rotary drive between the rotary drive part and the rotary driven part. The torsional drive transfer device includes a resilient element and is configured to allow limited relative rotation in the drive direction between the rotary drive part and the rotary driven part against a reaction force provided by the resilient element.
Bale weighing system
A baling system includes a baler and an anchor. The baler includes a baler base with a laterally-extending flange; a waste container adapted to hold a quantity of material to be baled; a compression ram positioned to compress material within the waste container to form a bale; and a scale responsive to a weight of the waste container, the ram, and material in the waste container. The anchor is adapted to constrain movement of the baler with respect to a support surface on which the baler rests. The anchor defines a recess adapted to receive a structural feature of the baler base spaced laterally from the scale.
