A medicine injection pen includes a rotatable drive member and a rotary encoder associated with the drive member. The rotary encoder is configured to determine an amount of liquid medicine dispensed based on a rotational orientation of the drive member.

ANESTHETIC DISPENSER WITH MIXING UNIT AND ANESTHETIC TANK AND PROCESS USING ANESTHETIC DISPENSER
20220409846 · 2022-12-29 ·

An anesthetic dispenser (100) includes an anesthetic tank (7) and a mixing unit (9) that mixes an anesthetic from the anesthetic tank with a carrier gas. Liquid anesthetic (Nm) can be refilled into the anesthetic tank through a refill opening (6). In one operating mode, a specified operating pressure is maintained. A closure (16) is moveable from a closed position via an intermediate position to an open position and closes the refill opening in both the closed position and the intermediate position. When the closure is moved from the closed position to the intermediate position, a transition time period elapses. A position sensor (22) detects the event that the closure has been moved out of the closed position. In response to this detection, pressure in the anesthetic tank is lowered during the transition period to a refill pressure that is still above ambient pressure. The closure is then opened.

PERITONEAL DIALYSIS CASSETTE WITH EXTERNAL PUMP
20220409793 · 2022-12-29 · ·

A peritoneal dialysis cassette that uses an external pump to drive fluid through the peritoneal dialysis cassette is provided. The peritoneal dialysis cassette can include two inlet/outlet ports connected to an inlet and outlet of the external pump. The external pump drives fluid through fluid passages in the peritoneal dialysis cassette connecting a plurality of other inlet/outlet ports, with one or more valves usable to selectively direct fluid through the peritoneal dialysis cassette.

The system includes a reusable fill adapter base, the base including a volume control mechanism to adjust an available fill volume of a reservoir of the infusion pump assembly and a pump mechanism configured to pump air into a fluid vial. The system also includes a vial adapter assembly including a first needle configured to penetrate a septum of the fluid vial for fluidly coupling the pump mechanism to the fluid vial and a second needle having a first end configured to penetrate the septum of the fluid vial and a second end configured to penetrate a septum of the reservoir of the infusion pump assembly to allow transfer of fluid from the fluid vial to the reservoir of the infusion pump assembly in response to air being pumped into the fluid vial and a needle carriage adapted to carry the first needle and the second needle, wherein the needle carriage slidably attached to the interior of the vial adapter assembly, wherein the needle carriage adapted to slide from a vial end of the vial adapter to a receptacle end of the vial adapter.

Monitoring an injection process

Shown is a simple, reliable manner of monitoring a process of expelling a variable dose of medicament from an injection device by analyzing mechanical feedback of the injection device with reduced requirements on signal data memory space and processing power. Specific measurand and mechanical user feedback sensor configurations enable sensor signal data from which individual dosage units of expelled drug are identifiable at moderate sampling rates. Preferred configurations include a force sensor adapted to measure an axial force component as applied to the device by a user pressing a proximal injection button, and a direction sensor adapted to measure an azimuth angle of an orientation of the device. The specific measurands, or process quantities observed, relate to feedback means of the device including a resilient element that produces a number of successive mechanical feedback events proportionate to a dose or quantity of drug expelled from a medicament reservoir.

Liquid treatment dispenser

A cartridge acting as a dispenser for liquid treatments of a human or animal body is U shaped or hoop shape. The cartridge has a container containing a liquid treatment which when required to be dispensed is ejected through one or more nozzles projecting through the wall of the cartridge into the centre of the U or of the hoop. A base is provided for cartridges, the base controlling timing and quantity of treatments.

Method and apparatus for determining information about a drug-containing vessel

Information about a drug-containing vessel is determined by capturing image data of the curved surface of a cylindrical portion of a drug-containing vessel. The image data is unfurled from around the curved surface, binarised, and a template matching algorithm employed to determine that the label information comprises candidate information about the vessel and/or the drug.

Breast pump containers and methods

Systems and methods for pumping milk from a breast, wherein the milk is expressed from the breast under suction and milk is expulsed from the pumping mechanism to a collection container assembly.

Rotary dosage sensing module for and in a disposable pen drug delivery device

A dosage sensing module for or in a pen drug delivery device and comprising a power source unit, a processor unit and a dosage sensor unit with a first sensor part adapted to be fixed to a part not rotating during dose expelling and comprising a flexible printed circuit board sheet on which a pattern of individual electrical conductive sensor areas are arranged. The sensor unit further comprises a second sensor part adapted to be fixed to the piston rod to follow the rotation thereof during dose expelling. The second sensor part comprises individual structures that together with the conductive sensor areas are adapted to, upon relative rotational movement between the first and second sensor part, provide electrical signals to a processor unit indicative of the relative rotational position between the first and second sensor part.
