PRESS BRAKE
20190255791 · 2019-08-22 ·

A press brake includes a ram to which an upper or lower tool can be attached; a movable ram driver; and a controller that controls the ram driver, wherein the ram driver includes a rotation/linear motion converter composed of a screw fixed to the ram and moves upward and downward as the ram moves upward and downward, and a nut screw-coupled with the screw; a drive rotation body arranged rotatably about a rotation axis of the nut; a first motor arranged in a fixed state; a first power transmitter that transmits rotation of the first motor to the nut at high speed and with low torque; a second motor arranged in a fixed state; a second power transmitter that transmits rotation of the second motor to the drive rotation body at low speed and with high torque; and a clutch provided between the nut and the drive rotation body.

WORKPIECE HOLDING TOOL CHANGING SYSTEM FOR A WORKPIECE CONVEYING APPARATUS OF A TRANSFER PRESS MACHINE

Provided is a workpiece holding tool changing system configured to change at least one of a relative position and a posture of a holding tool of a workpiece conveying apparatus with respect to a feed bar. The feed bar includes at least one set among: an X-axis direction linear mechanism with an X-axis linear brake; a Y-axis direction linear mechanism with a Y-axis linear brake; a Z-axis direction linear mechanism with a Z-axis linear brake; and a ball joint portion and a ball brake. Under a state in which inhibition of movement or change in posture by a corresponding brake is canceled, a robot changes the relative position or the posture of the holding tool to a desired relative position or a desired posture. After the change, the workpiece holding tool changing system is brought into a holding state in which the movement or the change in posture is inhibited.

Apparatus and Method for Monitoring Braking Power
20240255379 · 2024-08-01 ·

An apparatus performs braking power monitoring and safety-related locking of a drive of a technical system. The technical system has two machine parts that are movable relative to one another and that are moved towards one another by the drive at a defined actuation interval. A first controller has an input for receiving an encoder signal from an encoder coupled to a drive shaft of the drive. The first controller has an output for outputting an error signal. The first controller determines a value for an acceleration from the encoder signal when a brake coupled to the drive shaft acts with its greatest possible braking force on the drive shaft of the drive and locks the drive in a safety-related manner when the determined value exceeds a limit value stored in the first controller.

System and method of varying dwell time in a honeycomb plate press
09782817 · 2017-10-10 · ·

A system and method of increasing a dwell time in a foil stamping press is provided. The dwell time is readily adjusted on the fly by the user for a given operating rate. A timer is used to adjust the press to stop on top dead center with changes in images per hour. An air clutch and an original equipment air brake are used in tandem to provide the desired dwell time. A pair of timers governs a pneumatic switch for control of the air clutch and the air brake. The present system and method increase die image area capacity as compared to conventional foil stamping presses. The increased dwell time press yields a flawless foil stamped image for an impression pressure less than that required in a conventional machine for a given die, mounted at a given height upon a stationary platen, and at a given temperature.
