A patient interface may include a dual chamber cushion assembly having a nasal chamber and an oral chamber. The nasal chamber may be arranged to deliver pressurized breathable gas to a patients nasal passages, and the oral chamber may be arranged to deliver pressurized breathable gas to the patients oral passages. The nasal chamber may be pressurized to a different level than an oral chamber to promote nasal breathing. An air passage may fluidly connect the nasal chamber and the oral chamber so that pressurized breathable gas may flow from the nasal chamber to the oral chamber.

Pressure measurement devices, methods, and systems

A pressure measurement pod for use in blood circuits includes a pressure sensing pod defining a chamber and having a rigid wall portion and an integral flexible wall portion forming a flexible, moveable, fluid-impermeable diaphragm with a first major side thereof facing an interior of the chamber and a second major side opposite the first major side. The second major side faces outwardly away from the chamber, and the pod has ports on sides of the chamber. The internal surfaces of the chamber and ports are shaped such that any contour following the internal surfaces to the outside of one of the ports traces only surfaces characterized by positive or neutral draft angles such that invasive mold portions may be withdrawn through the ports thereby permitting the pressure measurement pod to be molded in a single shot molding process.

Insufflation apparatus and methods and a gas generating cartridge therefor

The invention provides an insufflation apparatus having a housing and a gas generator arranged to be, at least partially, mounted to the housing. The housing includes a gas outlet for delivering gas to a patient and a gas storage chamber arranged to store gas and deliver it to the gas outlet. The gas generator includes a cartridge mount on the housing adapted to receive a gas generating cartridge, the gas generating cartridge containing gas generating material that generates gas that is delivered to the gas storage chamber. The invention also provides alternative insufflation apparatus, a gas cartridge and a method of generating insufflation gas.

Tangential flow filter system for the filtration of materials from biologic fluids

Systems and methods for filtering materials from biologic fluids are discussed. Embodiments may be used to filter cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from a human or animal subject. In an example, CSF is separated into a permeate and retentate using a tangential flow filter. The retentate is filtered again and then returned to the subject with the permeate. During operation of the system, various parameters may be modified, such as flow rate and waste rate.

Extracorporeal blood treatment device and method for operating an extracorporeal blood treatment device

The invention relates to an extracorporeal blood treatment device comprising a hydraulic system II comprising a plurality of flow paths, the blood treatment device having a control unit 40 which provides an operating mode for disinfecting the hydraulic system with a liquid which can be supplied via one of the flow paths. Moreover, the invention relates to a method for operating an extracorporeal blood treatment device with a hydraulic system comprising a plurality of flow paths. The blood treatment device according to the invention is characterized in that the hydraulic system II has a valve device 23 which provides several switching positions. The valve device 23 has an inlet 25A for the liquid for disinfecting the hydraulic system and a plurality of outlets 26A, 27A, 28A, wherein in a switching position the inlet 25A is connected to one of the outlets 26A, 27A, 28A and in another switching position the inlet is connected to a plurality of outlets 26A, 27A, 28A.
