Offset blank nesting

A method of forming a packaging blank includes stripping away a portion of a stock material to create an offset void (24, 25) and blanking the stock material into a plurality of packaging blanks. Blanking includes separating the stock material along a plurality of severance lines (26, 28, 29) dividing between the blanks (100), wherein at least two of the severance lines are separated from one another by the offset void. Blanking can include separating the stock material along a plurality of severance lines dividing the blanks from one another by a blanking grid, wherein the blanking grid is arranged in a nested sheet-fed layout.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PRODUCING PRESSWARE

A system for forming a pressware product from a web of a roll of material includes a positive mold, a negative mold, a heating element, an actuator, a force sensor, and a control system. The positive mold forms a top surface of the pressware product. The negative mold forms a bottom surface of the pressware product. The heating element is coupled to the positive mold or the negative mold. The actuator shifts the positive mold or the negative mold to cut and form the pressware product in a single stroke. The force sensor detects the forming force applied by the actuator, and the control system directs the actuator to adjust the forming force.

Methods and systems for producing pressware

A system for forming a pressware product comprises rollers, a scoring tool, a scoring station actuator, a forming tool, and a forming station actuator. The rollers pull the web along a path having an angle. The scoring tool receives the material from the rollers and includes a vertically shiftable scoring punch with an edge that extends about an outline of the pressware product and a striker plate. The scoring station actuator shifts the scoring tool to form a slot in the web. The forming tool receives the scored web and includes a vertically shiftable positive mold assembly and negative mold assembly. The forming station actuator shifts the positive mold assembly to press against the web and form the pressware product.

The packaging system can be folded up to package a good in the packaging system, with all folds of the main body and the side flaps made parallel to the corrugations of the respective components.

HOLDING DEVICE FOR A WORKSTATION OF A FORMING MACHINE

The invention relates to a device (310) for holding a sheet-like element (10) during the stage of introducing it into a workstation (200, 300, 400) of a forming machine (1), such as a waste-ejection station (300), the said holding device (310) comprising a suction member (320) configured so as to partially retain each sheet (10) by its rear part during the stage when the said sheet (10) is introduced into the said workstation (200, 300, 400), characterized in that the suction member (320) has at least two motorized fans (13) with propellers (14) installed transversely at the entrance to the workstation (200, 300, 400), beneath the plane (P) along which the sheet-like elements move, the axes of rotation (A) of the propellers (14) of the fans (13) being substantially parallel to one another and perpendicular to the plane (P) along which the sheet-like elements move, the direction of rotation and the inclination of the propellers (14) being configured so as to generate a flow of air capable of applying suction to the rear of the lower face of the sheet-like element (10) during the stage in which the said sheet (10) is introduced into the said workstation (200, 300, 400).

Ventilation boards and methods for manufacturing ventilation board

A ventilation board is manufactured from a corrugated board comprising at least one depressed portion on both sides of the board in such a way that flutes of the corrugated layer between said depressed portions are exposed to form a plurality of passageways for passage of fluid across the board, in other words, from one side to the other side of the board. The depressed portion is formed by forming a cut on the surface of each side of the board in such a way that the cut penetrating from one side of the board passes through the corrugated layer of the corrugated board but does not pass through the other side of the corrugated board, and depressing the cuts in such a way that the flutes between the depressed portion get exposed in order to provide passageways for passage of the fluid across the board.

Methods and apparatus for in-line die cutting of vacuum formed molded pulp containers

Methods and apparatus for manufacturing a molded fiber part include: immersing a wire mesh mold in a slurry bath comprising water and fiber particles; drawing a vacuum across the wire mesh mold to cause fiber particles to accumulate at the wire mesh mold surface yielding a molded fiber part; transferring the molded part from the slurry bath to a die press assembly; and drying and die cutting the molded part in the die press assembly.
