A control system is in communication with the first servomechanism, the second servomechanism, and the third servomechanism and is configured to transmit a signal to each of the servomechanisms to independently control movement of the first lift mechanism, the second lift mechanism, and the folding arm to wrap at least the first and second portions of the blank about the mandrel to form the container.

Rotational apparatuses may engage portions of a blank that may be in a flat configuration and may rotate the portions around the outward cylindrical surface of the mandrel. Free edges of the tubular blank may be sealed by a sealing strip that may be T-shaped in cross section. A cup may be installed in an end opening, such as a bottom end, of the cylindrical tube. The cup may be sealed in the end opening by a seaming process using a seaming apparatus.

A double-walled cup and a process for production of the cup are described. The cup includes an inner cup and a tube-shaped outer sleeve, which is formed from a blank of paper material joined at its ends. The tube-shaped outer sleeve is slid axially onto a prefabricated inner sleeve and secured. The tube-shaped outer sleeve is formed from a flat blank by joining the ends of the blank before being slid on, whereby the ends of the blank are joined by an adhesive applied to a limited area of the outer sleeve. The ends of the blank are joined by a thermoplastic material in the form of an adhesive, which for example can be a hot-melt adhesive or a sealing varnish.

In order to enable rapid and reliable shaping of the gable even in packages with slanted gables, it is proposed that both the gable folder and the ear folders be mounted movably relative to the conveyor system and the packages to be transported therewith.
