Nasal mask system

A mask system includes a cushion for a mask that seals at its upper extent in a region of the nose that is generally above the tip of the nose or pronasale, and extends across a portion of the cartilaginous framework, alar or flares of the patient's nose, e.g., not extending over or across the nasal bone of the patient's nose.

Exhalation Disposal System
20220023512 · 2022-01-27 ·

The present invention relates to an exhalation disposal system for collecting, transporting and properly disposing of a bio-waste exhalation from an infectious patient in a closed system, thereby minimizing, if not completely eliminating, contact between medical personnel and the infectious patient's bio-waste exhalation. The system utilizes a length of flexible vacuum tubing in communication with both a specialized patient mouthpiece and a waste drain, and a check valve positioned along the length of the tubing to prevent backflow of the bio-waste exhalation. In an exemplary embodiment, the disposal system further comprises at least one sensor, a window and an access point for clearing blockages that may arise in the disposal system during use. The disposal system is configured to service multiple infectious patients simultaneously.

Sleeper detection and configuration of sleep environments and learning methods to optimize sleep quality

A bed includes environmental control components, which may be temperature control components and pressure adjustment components in some embodiments. The environmental control components may be configured to provide different sleep environments based on identity of sleepers using or expected to use the bed. A controller may determine a number of sleepers for the bed, identify the sleepers, and determine if there is an expectation of later arrival of sleeper in determining a configuration for the environmental control components in providing a sleep environment for the bed.

Shared Manifold Ventilator and Method of Use
20210346638 · 2021-11-11 ·

The Shared Manifold Ventilator uses low pressure breathing gas manifolds to interface directly with patients in a hospital ward, through solenoid valves in such a way that it achieves lower cost per patient ventilated than prior art methods while still allowing full control of the breathing cycle and oxygen concentration for each individual patient.

System and method for peritoneal dialysis exchanges having reusable energizing unit

A peritoneal dialysis system includes (i) a fill container, and (ii) an energizing unit that removably accepts the fill container, the energizing unit including a sterilization source so configured and arranged relative to the fill container when accepted by the energizing unit to place fluid within the fill container in a physiologically safe condition for delivery to the peritoneal cavity of a patient.

Health checks for infusion pump communications systems

A distributed system can include a server outside of a clinical environment and a connectivity adapter and a plurality of infusion pumps within the clinical environment. The connectivity adapter can monitor microservices that measure the quality of connectivity adapter's performance. If the performance is below a threshold level, a message indicating poor performance can be sent to the server. The message can be sent when a prior message relating to poor performance has not already been sent within a predetermined time period.

A method for stabilizing dialysate consumption flow in a central distribution loop for a plurality of dialysis machines comprises: coordinating each dialysate dispensing cycle of active ones of the dialysis machines; calculating dialysate or concentrates consumption based on amount required in each dialysate dispensing cycle of the active dialysis machines; and preparing the dialysate based on the calculated dialysate or concentrates consumption required by the active dialysis machines. Also a corresponding apparatus and a corresponding central dialysate preparation and distribution system are disclosed, wherein the apparatus at least comprises: a coordinating module configured to coordinate each dialysate dispensing cycle of active ones of the dialysis machines; a calculating module configured to calculate dialysate or concentrates consumption based on amount required in each dialysate dispensing cycle of the active dialysis machines; and a mixing control module, for preparing the dialysate based on the calculated dialysate or concentrates consumption.

MULTIPLE DRESSING NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY SYSTEM WITH CALIBRATED LEAK PATHS

Embodiments of apparatuses and methods for providing negative pressure wound therapy to multiple wounds are disclosed. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a negative pressure source configured to couple via a plurality of fluid flow paths to a plurality of wound dressings. The plurality of flow paths includes a plurality of calibrated leaks. The apparatus also includes a controller configured to determine a total rate of flow in the plurality of fluid flow paths and compare the total rate of flow to a plurality of thresholds associated with the plurality of calibrated leaks to determine one or more operating conditions, such as a blockage in one or more of the plurality of flow paths. An indication of the operating condition can be provided.

Remote respiratory therapy device management

A system and method for updating patient devices is disclosed. The patient devices may include respiratory therapy devices that operate in accordance with instruction sets, such as software or firmware. A server may maintain a database of configuration data indicating the versions of the software and firmware that is currently installed on the patient devices. The server may also transmit updated instructions from over a network, including a wireless network. Particular patient devices may be selected for updating based on the configuration data. Upon performing an update a patient device may transmit configuration data to the server.

ROBUST MOTION SICKNESS REDUCTION DEVICE
20230280830 · 2023-09-07 ·

A device for motion sickness reduction. The device operates by providing haptic feedback using transducers that convert electrical signals to a tactile sensation such as pressure, vibration, electrical stimulation, temperature, or airflow. The transducers are located at different locations on the body of a user, and actively change their operation to indicate a direction of motion or rotation to the user through haptic (tactile) feedback. This tactile feedback can be used to reduce motion sickness. In an embodiment, the feedback is improved by deducting motion associated with the user's visual frame of reference from motion associated with the user's vestibular frame of reference.
