SURGICAL SUCTION DEVICE THAT USES POSITIVE PRESSURE GAS

Described herein are devices, systems, and methods for generating a variable liquid vacuum with an accompanying stable gas flow rate. In particular, when a suction device suctions a liquid and gas mixture it is advantageous to provide a variable vacuum or vacuum to apply to the liquid component while the flow rate of the gas stays constant or essentially constant.

The gas guide tube assembly (200) comprises: a gas outlet guiding tube (210) having a gas inlet port (212) and a gas outlet port (214); and a guide tube (220) having a communication port (222) that communicates with the gas inlet port (212) of the gas outlet guiding tube (210) and a plurality of gas reflux ports (224, 226) that communicate with the communication port (222). The gas guide tube assembly (200), when in use, is disposed in a liquid storage cavity (120) of the humidifier, and the gas outlet port (214) of the gas outlet guiding tube (210) of the gas guide tube assembly (200) communicates with a gas outlet (124) of the liquid storage cavity (120). The present invention can solve to a certain extent a problem of water inhalation into the user due to overflow from the gas outlet (124).

Surgical gas delivery system with remote gaseous sealing module for maintaining stable pressure in a surgical cavity

A system for performing an endoscopic surgical procedure in a surgical cavity of a patient that includes a gas delivery device configured to deliver a flow of pressurized gas to a gas delivery lumen extending therefrom, a gaseous sealing module communicating with a distal end of the gas delivery lumen and configured to generate a gaseous seal within a gas sealed lumen extending therefrom, and an access port communicating with a distal end of the gas sealed lumen so as to provide sealed instrument access to the surgical cavity and maintain a stable pressure within the surgical cavity.

GATED-CONCENTRIC ARTIFICIAL LUNG

An artificial lung including a housing having a circular outer wall being enclosed by a first surface and a second surface to define an interior volume, a blood inlet port to permit inlet flow of blood to the housing, a blood outlet port to permit outlet flow of the blood from the housing, a gas inlet port to permit inlet flow of a gas to the housing, a gas outlet port to permit outlet flow of the gas from the housing, and a plurality of baffles concentrically disposed within the housing. The baffles are positioned to define a flow path between the blood inlet port and the blood outlet port. Each of the baffles includes a gate opening to permit flow of the blood along the flow path. A fiber bundle is disposed between the baffles within the flow create mixing and improve gas exchange efficiency.

A small form factor metered dose inhaler is disclosed. The inhaler includes a casing having a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis. The casing has a mouthpiece opening at one end along the longitudinal axis. The casing is configured to house a medicament canister along the longitudinal axis. The medicament canister contains a plurality of doses of a pulmonary medicament and a metered dose valve configured to release a metered dose of the pulmonary medicament through the mouthpiece opening along the longitudinal axis. A mechanical linkage translates an applied input force to the mechanical linkage into an output force along the longitudinal axis configured to actuate the metered dose valve and release the metered dose of the pulmonary medicament in a direction along the longitudinal axis. The aerosolized medicament exits the casing in a fluid flow which is symmetric in a vertical plane along the longitudinal axis.

Flush syringe assembly with controlled pulsatile flushing

Flush syringe assemblies capable of creating pulsatile movement of the plunger rod as it moves in the distal direction within a syringe barrel, while preventing overpressurization of the catheter are provided. An exemplary flush syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel with a first pulsing element and a chamber with flush solution, a plunger rod with a stopper and a second pulsing element that interacts with the first pulsing element to provide an engagement force that causes pulsatile movement of the plunger rod and a thumb press slidably attached to the plunger rod with a pulse control element. The pulse control element is compressible to create a compression force that is greater than the engagement force of the first pulsing element and the second pulsing element.
