Container and method of growing plants

The present invention relates to a container in which one or more plants can be held. The invention relates in particular to a container in which plants and/or seeds are able to grow. The invention also relates to a method for growing plants. According to the invention, the container comprises a container base having a growth medium in which one or more plants can be grown, a container lid that is coupled to the container base, and a cutting member for cutting through the one or more plants. According to the invention, the cutting member can be actuated prior to or during an action of at least substantially breaking the coupling between the container lid and the container base.

The present disclosure describes a device formed by a substantially cylindrical, permeable sheath with a filling of biochar particles, which ensures the deep infiltration of rainwater, irrigation water or run-off, thereby preventing it from evaporating and optimising the use thereof. The disclosure also describes a method for increasing a crop yield by using the disclosed devices.

The processor can receive data from one or several components of the system and can provide control signals to one or several components of the system. The grow box can include a housing. The housing can include: a reservoir portion; and a greenhouse portion. The greenhouse portion can connect to the reservoir portion via a grow tray. A top of the reservoir portion and the greenhouse portion define an enclosed volume. The greenhouse portion can include an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture. The inlet aperture can be obstructed by an inlet filter such that air flowing into the greenhouse portion passes through the inlet filter, and the greenhouse portion can be connected to a fan that can propel air through the inlet aperture and out of the outlet aperture.

The present invention provides a plant pot tray and irrigation system that improves the efficiency of installation and removal of growing pots from the tray. The present invention includes a plant pot tray that includes an integrated irrigation system that does not install into the individual pots but may be installed into the tray itself outside of the pots. The integrated irrigation system allows for the pots to be installed and removed from the plant pot tray without disturbing the integrated irrigation system, thus making the installation and removal of the pots efficient and operable to be automated.

The water re-circulation system is configured to provide the water containing the plant nutrients to the tray. The tray is configured to convey the water along the bottom the tray to the drain opening, the drain opening configured to drain the water from the tray. The hydroponic system comprises different types of removable growing structures that are configured to provide corresponding different vertical distances between a top of a hydroponic growing medium and the bottom of the tray.
