Non-continuously laminated structures of thermoplastic films with differing material compositions and functional material properties
A non-continuously laminated structure of thermoplastic films comprises thermoplastic films with differing material compositions and differing functional benefits. In particular, one or more embodiments comprise thermoplastic films that are co-extruded separately and then combined together by a post-extrusion bonding process. The differing composition of the various films of the non-continuously laminated structure of thermoplastic films and the post-extrusion bonding process, provide the structures with the functional benefits of the individual films.

Back seam welder and method of operation
A thermal welder is configured to weld a back seam of a bag formed of thermoplastic sheet material. The welder may include a weld heater and a compression mechanism downstream of the weld heater to compress the sheet material to form the back seam. The welder may also include a weld breaker downstream of the compression mechanism to break apart incidental welds which are formed adjacent the back seam.
FLEXIBLE BAG HAVING A CONVERTIBLE BOTTOM, METHOD AND MACHINE FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
A bag made of flexible material has a first and a second segment having cheeks along their selvages, the cheeks being joined together so as to form two gussets joining the segments together, one end of the bag perpendicular to the selvages being closed. The bag has a system of at least one reinforcing panel extending over a central part of the segments, between the gussets, each segment having a fold marking line, one opposite the other, in order to delimit a bottom at the closed end. Method and machine for manufacturing such a bag.
METHOD AND MACHINE FOR MANUFACTURING A FLEXIBLE ENVELOPE-LIKE BAG, PARTICULARLY WITH REINFORCEMENT
A method for manufacturing flexible bags, including: a first strip of flexible material is unwound as a continuous sheet in a longitudinal direction; a hem is formed on each edge of the first strip and the hems are glued over at least one length of a first or a second flap on one stitching face; a fold is formed in the first strip along a transverse folding line to fold down the first flap over the second flap against an internal face of the first strip, the fold bringing, for each edge, hem against hem so as to obtain the bonding of the hems, the strip is cut along a transverse section to form the bag at the end of the operations. Machine implementing the method and bag thus obtained.

Method of performing a task in registration with a seal in materials and flexible containers made by method
A method for performing a task in registration with a discrete seal in at least one material is described herein. The method involves simultaneously forming a discrete seal and a fiducial/eye mark in the at least one material. The method includes providing a detection device; providing a unit operation mechanism; and performing an operation on the material(s) in registration with the discrete seal. The task performed in registration with the discrete seal is based upon the location of the eye mark that was simultaneously formed with the discrete seal. A method of making flexible containers using cutting to form the outer periphery of the packages is described herein. Also described herein are flexible containers and container blanks made by such a method.
Methods and apparatus to facilitate plastic film processing
A system includes a film processing module, a processor, and memory. The processor and memory are in communication with the film processing module. The processor is configured to dynamically coordinate movement of the film processing module relative to a moving web of film and to perform a function on the web of film with the film processing module.
CONTROLLER FOR POUCH-MAKING MACHINE, POUCH-MAKING MACHINE, POUCH, CONTROL METHOD FOR POUCH-MAKING MACHINE, AND CONTROL PROGRAM FOR POUCH-MAKING MACHINE
A controller for a pouch-making machine for manufacturing a pouch while feeding a pair of film materials each provided with a reference mark that indicates a reference position for layering the film materials together, includes a driven roller shift unit for independently shifting each shaft of a pair of driven rollers that rotate being driven by the pair of film materials being fed and a control unit for controlling the driven roller shift unit based on a result of an image-shooting unit shooting images of the reference marks, so that positions of the reference marks provided on the pair of film materials coincide.
