A steam generator according to the present invention comprises a heat generating layer comprising an oxidizable metal, a carbon component, and water, a first water absorbent layer laminated on the heat generating layer and comprising a first water absorbent, a water absorbing sheet laminated on the first water absorbent layer, and a second water absorbent layer laminated on the water absorbing sheet and comprising a second water absorbent.
Displacement device, testing device and method for leakage testing of a connection of a tip cap with a syringe
The present invention relates to a displacement device, DD, for providing a displacement of a syringe closure system for a syringe relative to the syringe, a testing device, TD, and a method for leakage testing of a connection of a syringe closure system for a syringe with the syringe.
Clinical assessment of an intravenous catheter site
A system and method for assessing an intravenous catheter site is described in embodiments herein. An application accessible on a mobile device may be used to take calibrated photographs of an intravenous catheter site. The resulting calibrated image may be compared to previously taken calibrated images to determine a complication. Success of treatments to the complication may be tracked and the patient's electronic medical record may be updated.
SUBSTANCE DELIVERY APPARATUS, SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Substance supply apparatus, systems and methods are provided herein. In some aspects, a substance supply apparatus comprises a tank assembly coupled to a manifold. The tank assembly can comprise a cavity housing one or more electrical components, a set of heating elements electrically coupled to the electrical components, and wherein each heating element is configured to couple with a cartridge configured to house a substance to be heated. The manifold can comprise a plurality of delivery ports, wherein each delivery port is configured to couple with a cartridge that is also coupled to the heating element. In some aspects, a system comprises one or more supply apparatus, as well as one or more inhalation chambers, actuator devices, supply paths from the apparatus to an inlet port of the chambers, and one or more controllers.
PHYSIOLOGICAL LUNG SIMULATOR
A lung simulator for partial simulation of functions of a lung, comprising at least one gas loop which is connected to a ventilator which is configured to convey a breathing gas into and/or out of the gas loop at least temporarily. The lung simulator comprises at least one device for setting the O2 concentration of the breathing gas in the gas loop, at least one device for setting the CO2 concentration of the breathing gas in the gas loop and at least one device for simulating a mechanical lung movement.
Automatic injection training device
An automatic injection training device is presented having an elongated housing having a tubular demo container axially and rotationally fixed relative to the elongated housing and having a tubular wall, a reloadable plunger assembly having a plunger which is movable in the demo container between a first and a second position and a first energy accumulating member that moves the plunger from the first to the second position, an actuation assembly that holds the plunger in the first position, a biased needle cover that is movable in relation to the housing from an extended position to a retracted position and from the retracted position to the extended position, wherein the needle cover member interacts with the actuation assembly for releasing the plunger when the needle cover member is moved distally.
Left ventricular assist device adjustment and evaluation
Systems and methods are described herein for evaluation and adjustment of a left ventricular assist device (LVAD). The systems and methods may utilize at least a plurality of external electrodes to monitor cardiac electrical activity before and during LVAD therapy. The cardiac electrical activity as well as other information such cardiac sound information may be used to determine and adjust one or more LVAD output parameters such as pump speed.
CATHETER SYSTEM AND INTRAVASCULAR BLOOD PUMP HAVING SAID CATHETER SYSTEM
A catheter (20), which can be part of an intravascular blood pump, possesses a kink sensor which extends over the total length of the catheter and comprises an optical fiber (28A). The optical fiber is attached to an evaluation device (100) which evaluates a preset light quantity transmitted through the optical fiber as to whether a part of the light quantity is coupled out of the optical fiber along the length of the optical fiber. This is interpreted as a kink event and displayed. The optical fiber preferably utilized for the kink sensor is the optical fiber of an optical pressure sensor.
