Hermetic, Insecticidal Food Storage Bag, Use of It and a Method for Its Production

A crop storage bag (1) made is of a high-strength textile (7) material which is extrusion-coated or laminated with a multilayer film (8) that comprises an insecticidal layer (9) in addition to a hermetic layer (10) which prevents oxygen from entering the bag. This oxygen barrier suffocates the insects inside the bag, and the insecticide kills insects that try to bore through the bag.

Multi-layer thermoplastic films and bags with enhanced odor control and methods of making the same

A multi-layer thermoplastic film include a first film of thermoplastic material, a second film of thermoplastic material bonded to the first film, and an odor control component disposed between the first film and the second film. A method of manufacturing a multi-layer thermoplastic film coextruding a plurality of layers to form a first film, coextruding a plurality of layers to form a second film, disposing at least one odor control component on at least one of the first film and the second film, and bonding the first and second films together such that the at least one substance is disposed between the first film and the second film.

Method for lubricating pressure relief valves

A method for applying a lubricant to a pressure relief valve during the process of applying the pressure relief valve to packaging. The method includes temporarily separating layers of the valve with a vacuum applicator when the lubricant is applied. A pressurized nozzle sprays or atomizes the lubricant into the valve opening. Graphite suspended in liquid silicone is used as the lubricant; it is recirculated in a reservoir to keep the graphite in suspension. Optical sensors check for valves before the entrance to, and after exit from, the vacuum applicator.

Method of manufacturing a paper bag for containing sanitary products

A method of making a paper bag for containing sanitary products, which includes conveying a paper web having a first side and a second side in a conveying direction; Applying a sealable coating to the first side of the paper web in sections, and applying second coating strips extending substantially transversely to the conveying direction and spaced apart from one another in the conveying direction; folding onto itself the first side of the paper web along the direction of conveyance to form a two-ply web having a folding configuration; and heat sealing the second coating strips to form side seams each defining a bag interior; separating the two-ply web along the heat sealed side seams to separate the two-ply web into individual paper bags.
