Method and apparatus for cleaning a tube
An umbrella-like scraper for cleaning tubes and pipes may include a scraper, an actuator and a hinge configured for selective deployment of the scraper by manipulation of the actuator.
SURGICAL SHUNT ASSEMBLY TOOL
The present disclosure provides a surgical shunt assembly tool that provides a more efficacious grip on the catheter tubes and prevent the tip of the catheter from buckling while the catheter is pushed onto the tip of the valve during installation of shunts during CSF shunt surgery. The tool includes standard handles such as used in a shodded misquito tool having a clamping jaw integrated into the distal end section of the handle. The distal jaw includes two forcep jaw sections each having a proximal end integrally formed with a distal end of a distal end arm section of one of the two handle arms, and a distal end section extending away from the distal end arm section. The distal end sections of the forcep jaw sections are cylindrically shaped such that when the forcep jaw is closed by bringing the two forcep jaw sections together, a cylinder is formed having a diameter substantially equal to a diameter of a catheter tube to be attached to a shunt valve tip. The proximal ends of the forcep jaw sections are oval shaped and have a size such that when the forcep jaw is closed bringing the two forcep jaw sections together, an oval shaped opening is formed having a size smaller than the diameter of the catheter tube such that the catheter tube is squeezed closed to provide a firm grip of the tool of the catheter tube.
Remote respiratory therapy device management
A system and method for updating patient devices is disclosed. The patient devices (720, 730, 740) may include respiratory therapy devices (4000) that operate in accordance with instruction sets (726), such as software or firmware. A server (710) may maintain a database of configuration data (718) indicating the versions of the software and firmware that is currently installed on the patient devices (720, 730, 740). The server (710) may also transmit updated instructions (716) from over a network (4282), including a wireless network. Particular patient devices (720, 730, 740) may be selected for updating based on the configuration data (718). Upon performing an update a patient device (720, 730, 740) may transmit configuration data (728) to the server (710).
RESPIRATORY EQUIPMENT PACKAGING AND A PACKAGING INSERT FOR RESPIRATORY EQUIPMENT
Respiratory equipment packaging and insert for a respiratory interface assembly having a respiratory interface and headgear. The packaging includes a first pocket having a first opening, and being configured to enclose and sealing retain at least the respiratory interface and the headgear of the respiratory assembly, and a second pocket, adjacent the first pocket and having a second opening. The second pocket is configured to receive an auxiliary device intended for use with, or comprising part of, the respiratory interface assembly, such as a mask size measuring device. The insert is configured to support the respiratory interface in an upright orientation and includes at least one slot configured to receive a strap of the headgear of the respiratory interface assembly.
DENTAL TOOL
The present disclosure is directed to a dental tool and methods for using the same. The dental tool includes a handle; a tip operably attached to a first end of the handle; and an alignment element that is substantially parallel with the handle.
Nasal bridle clip applier and related method
A receiver for securing at least one tube in a patient includes a shell operable in a first position for receiving the tube and a second position for securing the tube, and a compressible member supported by the shell for contacting the tube in the second position. A bridle looped around the patient's septum may also be secured in the second position. A system for securing the tube includes a receiver and an applier. The applier supports the receiver in the first position and transitions the receiver from the first position to the second position after the tube is positioned within the receiver. A method of securing a tube includes positioning the tube in a patient, placing a flexible member around the patient's nasal septum, receiving the tube and flexible member in a shell supported by an applier, and operating the applier to move the shell to a closed position.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR COUPLING COMPONENTS OF A MEDICAL SYSTEM
The systems and methods of the present disclosure are for use in a medical procedure, in which a connection mechanism is provided with a first end connected to a medical system interface at a first joint and a second end connected to an anatomic orifice device at a second joint. The anatomic orifice device is fixedly coupled to a patient. A flexible portion is provided between the first and second ends, the flexible portion being able to provide flexibility in at least one degree of freedom in response to movement of the anatomic orifice device.
INDWELLING URINARY CATHETERS
Disclosed is an endo-urethral catheter for a male subject. The catheter includes a tube and two balloons. The tube includes a lumen extending there along, an opening(s) on a tube distal section, and a valve positioned in the lumen. A first balloon is disposed about the tube distal section proximally to the opening(s). A second balloon is positioned proximally to the first balloon and distally to the valve. The catheter is configured to be deployed in the urinary system such that the first balloon is positioned in the bladder neck, and the second balloon is positioned adjacently and proximally to the urinary sphincter, thereby anchoring the catheter. The valve is configured to be controllably opened and shut, such as to respectively fluidly couple and decouple the bladder to the proximal end of the tube, thereby allowing the subject to controllably expel urine.
A MEDICAL DEVICE FOR DEPLOYING A CATHETER THAT CAN BE OPERATED WITH A SINGLE HAND, AND A METHOD
A medical device is provided that can be held and operated with a single hand to cause a catheter to be placed at a selected location in a patient's body. The user's other hand is free to perform other tasks, such as operating an ultrasound probe, for example. The medical device may also include a valve that can be operated with the same hand that holds the medical device to open a port to cause a fluid, such as a nerve block agent, for example, to be injected into the patient's body at the selected location.
