Flushable catheters
A flushable catheter configured to facilitate flushing of the catheter down the toilet and for disposal thereof. The flushable catheter optionally having a selected density such that the catheter has a desired buoyancy relative to water. Alternatively or in addition to having a selected density, the flushable catheter optionally includes a water capture element that is contacted by flushing water and captures the force of the flushing water to propel the catheter down the toilet and/or across a trapway/U-bend sewer pipe.
Syringe Plunger Assemblies
A syringe for storing and delivering a fluid that includes (1) a stopper and (2) a plunger rod assembly is provided. The plunger rod assembly includes a plunger rod and a threaded member at a plunger-engaging end. The stopper may be formed of an elastomeric material. The stopper has an exterior surface and an inner cavity. The inner cavity of the stopper may have a generally frustoconical shape with at least one engagement surface. The threaded member contacts at least one engagement surface in the inner cavity of the stopper to support the plunger rod assembly in an integrated, non-threaded engagement with the stopper. In some embodiments, the threaded member is freely rotatable within the inner cavity.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISINFECTING A CONDUIT
This disclosure relates to a system and method for disinfecting a conduit, such as a conduit for use in a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) system. An example system according to this disclosure includes a sheath a probe magnetically suspended within the sheath. The probe includes an ultraviolet light source configured to emit ultraviolet light. Further, the probe is spaced-apart from an inner dimension of the sheath to allow a conduit to pass between the probe and the sheath.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DRYING A HOSE OF A CPAP MACHINE
A system for drying a hose of a CPAP machine includes an elongated member, a drying element, a coupling element and a mounting member. The elongated member includes a first end and a second end and is flexible along its length. The coupling element is carried at the first end of the elongated member and couples the drying element to the elongated member. The mounting member mounts the system to a door to suspend the hose during drying of an interior of the hose.
Reinforced Septum For An Implantable Medical Device
An access port includes an access port body and a needle-penetrable septum. The access port body can be of integral single-piece construction, and can define a reservoir aligned with an access opening. The access port body can further define an annular groove between the reservoir and the opening. The annular groove can have a diameter greater than a diameter of the access opening and a diameter of the reservoir. The needle-penetrable septum can include an upper portion disposed in the access opening and an annular flange disposed in the annular groove. The annular flange can extend radially outward from a lower portion of the septum, and can have a diameter greater than a diameter of the upper portion of the septum. The needle-penetrable septum can further include an annular reinforcement structure disposed within the annular flange.
Medical connector coupling assisting tool and medical connector set
A medical connector coupling assisting tool for use with a lock connector part interconnecting at least two medical connectors, each of which includes a construction part, includes: at least two insertion parts configured to be inserted into respective portions defined by the constriction parts such that the insertion parts are thereby detachably mounted on the constriction parts; and a coupling part formed integrally with the at least two insertion parts and coupling the insertion parts together.
Needle shield puller
A needle shield puller has a deformable tubular body including a proximal end having a proximal opening and a distal end. An opening extends from the proximal opening toward the distal end. The opening is shaped to accommodate a portion of a needle shield. The body has initial and tension states and the opening diameter is greater in the initial state. A cinch is secured to the body at the proximal opening to secure the needle shield puller to the needle shield. The cinch biases the cinch diameter to a relaxed cinch diameter less than the needle shield diameter. A handle at a distal end of the body allows a user to place the body in the tension state. An installation aid comprises an arm releasably engageable with the cinch and the proximal opening to expand the cinch diameter toward a maximum cinch diameter greater than the needle shield diameter.
Determining information about a patients face
An electronic apparatus includes a compilation unit structured to receive a plurality of different 3-D models of a patient's face, to compare the different 3-D models of the patient's face and to determine additional information about the patient's face based on the comparison, wherein the additional information includes at least one of a location of hard tissue, a depth of soft tissue, and a compliance of soft tissue, and wherein the patient's face is manipulated between the different 3-D models.
Supplemental device for attachment to an injection device
A supplemental device for attachment to an injection device, the supplemental device comprising: a housing; an electromechanical switch arrangement having an open state and a closed state, the electromechanical switch arrangement comprising a protrusion configured to contact a surface of the injection device while the supplemental device is attached to the injection device; a dose dialed detector operable to detect a dose of medicament dialed into the attached injection device; and a processor arrangement configured to: monitor the detected dose of medicament dialed into the attached injection device; detect a change in the state of the electromechanical switch arrangement; and change a display output of the supplemental device when a change in the state of the electromechanical switch arrangement is detected while a zero dose is dialed into the attached injection device.
