MEDICAL DEVICE FOR DEPLOYING A CATHETER THAT CAN BE OPERATED WITH A SINGLE HAND, AND A METHOD
A medical device is provided that can be held and operated with a single hand to cause a catheter to be placed at a selected location in a patient's body. The user's other hand is free to perform other tasks, such as operating an ultrasound probe, for example. The medical device may also include a valve that can be operated with the same hand that holds the medical device to open a port to cause a fluid, such as a nerve block agent, for example, to be injected into the patient's body at the selected location.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVING A COVERING FROM A BODILY SURFACE
The present disclosure provides a method of removing a cover from a bodily surface of a subject. The method may comprise applying a cover removal device to a portion of the cover that is disposed on the bodily surface of the subject, thereby generating a connection between the cover removal device and the portion of the cover. The method may comprise moving the cover removal device across the bodily surface of the subject in order to selectively remove the cover from the bodily surface and capture the cover onto the cover removal device, without the cover removal device substantially affecting or interfering with the bodily surface of the subject.
METHOD OF DELIVERING AN EXTRACT
A method of delivering liquid or solid extracts to a person is described. The method includes providing the extract to an inner surface of a face covering, such as a face mask, gator, or bandana. In certain embodiments, a reservoir or pad is provided to the inner surface to retain the extract. Once the person placed the face covering on their face, the extract vaporizes, providing a continuous flow of the extract to the person. The extract can be an extract of cannabis or an extract of hemp which contains THC or CBD, an extract of tobacco, an aromatherapy oil, or a pharmaceutical.
PRECISION SYRINGE PLUNGER WITH SEPARATELY MANUFACTURED AND IRREVERSIBLY COUPLED PLUNGER ARM AND PLUNGER ROD
A precision syringe plunger includes a plunger rod and a separately manufactured plunger arm. The plunger rod includes a base formed at a proximal end of the plunger rod and a first interference fit connector formed below the base. The plunger rod is configured to extend longitudinally into a syringe barrel. The plunger arm includes a second interference fit connector formed at a proximal end of the plunger arm. The second interference fit connector is configured to be irreversibly coupled to the first interference fit connector so that the plunger arm extends longitudinally along an outer surface of the syringe barrel. The plunger arm further includes a distally located projection. The projection is configured to receive an applied force that causes an entirety of the syringe plunger to move relative to the syringe barrel so that the plunger rod is actuated through a portion of the syringe barrel.
Supplementary device for a manually operable injection device
The present invention relates to a supplementary device a supplementary device for a manually operable injection device. The supplementary device has a body defining a passage through which an injection device is slidable, and a securing unit to secure the body to the injection device in the specific position when the injection device is received through the passage.
Threaded connector port cleaning system, method, and apparatus
Systems, methods, and apparatus for cleaning and sealing threaded connector ports are disclosed. An exemplary cleaning system includes a basin and cleaning apparatus including a sealing connector, an alignment peg, and an outer foam sleeve having a tubular portion. The sealing connector includes a body portion having a gripping portion, an internal thread cleaning portion, and a longitudinal axis. Another cleaning apparatus also includes a cap cleaning end having a cap cavity and an inner foam pad. Another system includes a threaded connector port and a cleaning apparatus including an alignment peg, a disposable foam platform, and a handle body, which includes a grip portion and a pair of cleaning arms. The cleaning arms and foam pads are adapted to engage the female threads of a threaded connector port. A sealing apparatus includes a disposable liner having locator flaps and a placement tool having a handle and locator fingers.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE PORT IMPLANTATION
Disclosed are a port and methods of implanting thereof minimally invasively in a body of a subject. A rear portion of the port comprises a port gripping portion configured for clamping by a clamping head of a medical clamp. The port can be pushed with the medical clamp through a surgical opening and a subcutaneous void and/or passage to a target implantation site, and, and the medical clamp can be released from the port gripping portion and removed the from the subcutaneous void and/or passage.
VAPOR DOSING PLATFORM FOR VAPORIZATION CARTRIDGES
The present disclosure includes a method for vaporizing a product of a plurality of different products including receiving, by a processor of a vaporizing device, a desired dosage amount that is indicative of an amount of a compound to release during one or more inhalation events. The method includes determining, by the processor, an occurrence of a current inhalation event and during the current inhalation event determining, by the processor, an inhalation pressure being applied to a container that contains the product; determining, by the processor, a predicted dosage that is indicative of a predicted amount of the compound that has been released in the vapor during the current inhalation event based on the inhalation pressure; and selectively adjusting, by the processor, a vaporizing temperature being applied to the product by the vaporizer based on the desired dosage and the predicted dosage.
AROMATHERAPY CONVECTION HEATING CONTROL SYSTEM
Disclosed herein are aspects of portable vaporizers to deliver aliquots of heated air to material in a unitary furnace. The furnace is multipurposed reducing heat loss, air leakage and delays in availability of air aliquots at the proper temperature for use. By dividing the unitary furnace with an air permeable divider and placing material in the chamber a controller selectively providing electrical power to a heating element configured to heat air in at least an upper region of the unitary furnace. Upon application of suction to the fluid passage heated air passes into the material and vaporizes organic oils in the material and said heating a volume of air inside a unitary furnace vaporized material can be withdrawn from the fluid passage.
SYRINGE-SUPPORT APPARATUS AND METHODS OF USE
Apparatus and method for syringe support are disclosed. The syringe-support apparatus may include a front arm and a back arm connected at a hinge mechanism. The front and back arms may comprise a finger grip and thumb grip. A user may employ a well-known scissor-like movement in view of the finger grip and thumb grip, combined with the hinge mechanism. The front and back arms may further comprise a syringe securing mechanism, which may correlate hand motion with a syringe plunger motion. In view of the finger grip, thumb grip, and syringe securing mechanism, respectively, a user may engage the user's forearm muscles during aspiration and injection. The securing mechanism may comprise an adjustable barrel support and barrel support hook to secure a syringe barrel.
