METHODS AND A MACHINE FOR FORMING A CONTAINER FROM A BLANK
A machine a mandrel assembly includes a mandrel having an external shape complimentary to an internal shape of at least a portion of a container, a first lift mechanism operatively coupled to a first servomechanism to wrap a first portion of a blank about the mandrel, a second lift mechanism operatively coupled to a second servomechanism to wrap a second portion of the blank about the mandrel, and a folding arm coupled to the first lift mechanism and operatively coupled to a third servomechanism. A control system is in communication with the first servomechanism, the second servomechanism, and the third servomechanism and is configured to transmit a signal to each of the servomechanisms to independently control movement of the first lift mechanism, the second lift mechanism, and the folding arm to wrap at least the first and second portions of the blank about the mandrel to form the container.
Insulative container
An insulated sleeve is provided to be coupled to an outer surface of a cup. The sleeve is formed from an insulative cellular non-aromatic polymeric material having an area of plastic deformation. There are no fractures in the insulative cellular non-aromatic polymeric material so that a predetermined insulative characteristic is maintained in the material.
FOLDER-GLUER
In a folder-gluer, push-out forces by an air cylinder and a push-out spring mechanism are set such that: (1) when downstream portions of first and fourth panels are passing through a second bending plate, the second bending plate is pushed outwardly in a width direction by the push-out forces to extend the downstream portions of the first and fourth panels in the width direction; and (2) when upstream portions of the first and fourth panels are passing through the second bending plate, the second bending plate is pushed back inwardly in the width direction by the resistance force applied to the second bending plate by the first and fourth panels so as not to extend the upstream portions in the width direction, and wherein the push-out forces are not varied by a control while the first and fourth panels are passing through the second bending plate.
Method and device for forming package bodies open at one end from package sleeves open at both ends
The invention relates to a method for forming package bodies open at one end from package sleeves open at both ends for the manufacture of filled packages. In order to allow packages with a cross section which is neither square nor rectangular to be formed more simply and reliably, the package sleeves are kept ready for further processing in a stack, folded flat along at least two folded edges running in the longitudinal direction of the package sleeve, the flat-folded package sleeves are transferred in succession from the stack to a forming station, the package sleeves are unfolded in a forming station and the unfolded package sleeves are, in the forming station, pushed onto a mandrel in order to close, in particular seal, a longitudinal end of the package sleeve.
Device and method for removing a box from a chuck
The present invention relates to a device for removing a box or box part with a polygonal section from a chuck (51) comprising an upper face (511), an application face (510) interconnected by lateral faces and an end face (514), a chuck whereon the box has been previously formed from a blank (1). It comprises a plate (64) comprising first gripping means and translatably movable between a deployed position wherein the plate is near the end face (514) of the chuck whereon the lateral flaps (16a to 16d) are intended to be folded and folded position wherein the plate (64) is away from the chuck (51). The chuck (51) itself is movable between a first forming position wherein the outer cross-section thereof corresponds to the inner cross-section of the box or box part and a second retracted position wherein the outer cross-section thereof is smaller than the inner cross-section of the box or box part.
PROCESS FOR FORMING PLASTIC CORRUGATED CONTAINER AND INTERMEDIARY BLANK
A corrugated plastic box and a method for manufacturing a corrugated plastic box from a blank are provided. The method includes the steps of forming rounded edge seals on the perimeter edges of the blank, pre-sealing portions of the blank to form a plurality of areas in which major and minor flap slots and a glue tab are desired, ultrasonically scoring the blank to form a plurality of flap score lines, and cutting the blank through the plurality of pre-sealed flap slots and glue tab, leaving a sealed edge.
PACKAGING MACHINE INFEED, SEPARATION, AND CREASING MECHANISMS
A machine for forming packing templates includes a infeed mechanism that can feed multiple feeds of sheet material into the machine without repositioning the infeed mechanism or forming creases or bends in the sheet material. The machine also includes a separation and cutting systems with one or more cutting tables and biased knives that cut the sheet material packaging templates. The machine also includes creasing roller(s) that forms creases in the sheet material. The machine also includes a system for reducing or eliminating the impact of irregularities in the sheet material.
END FLAP ENGAGEMENT ASSEMBLY FOR ERECTING CARTONS AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A method of at least partially erecting a carton with a carton forming system includes loading a blank in a blank infeed assembly, the blank having a plurality of panels and a plurality of end flaps foldably connected to a respective panel of the plurality of panels. The method further includes positioning the blank on at least one conveyor assembly, operating the at least one conveyor assembly to move the blank in a downstream direction of the system toward a carton erection assembly, the carton erection assembly including an end flap engagement assembly positioned adjacent the at least one conveyor assembly, and rotating the end flap engagement assembly such that a portion of the end flap engagement assembly contacts and moves at least one end flap of the plurality of end flaps of the blank as the blank moves in the downstream direction.
Box opening device
A box-opening device is disclosed. The box-opening device includes a first holding part that holds a first surface and a second holding part that holds a second surface. The first surface is one of two adjacent surfaces of a folded corrugated cardboard sheet, and the second surface is the other of the two adjacent surfaces of the corrugated cardboard sheet. The box-opening device also includes a first holding part movement mechanism which changes a position of the first holding part with respect to the second holding part and thereby transforms the corrugated cardboard sheet into an opened state. The first holding part movement mechanism has a support member that supports the first holding part so that the part rotates on an arc track about a central axis of rotation that overlaps an imaginary line extending along a boundary line between the first surface and the second surface.
Sheet folding device and method, and box-making machine
A sheet folding device and method, and a box-making machine, wherein are provided a molding belt for moving on a center side in the width direction of a cardboard sheet toward a downstream side in a transfer direction of the cardboard sheet and thereby pressing and folding both end parts in the width direction of the cardboard sheet from the outside, and a folding roller group formed by folding rollers for contacting insides of fold parts on both sides in the width direction of the cardboard sheet more toward the center in the width direction of the cardboard sheet than the molding belt, the folding rollers being arranged further upstream in the transfer direction of the cardboard sheet than a 90-degree folding position of the cardboard sheet.
