Foldable box template
A foldable box template includes first, second, third, fourth, and fifth segments. Each of the segments has a length, a width, and one or more flaps. The first segment is positioned at a first end of the template and the fifth segment is positioned at a second, opposing end of the template. The sum of the lengths of the first segment and the fifth segment is generally equal to the length of the third segment. As a result, the first and fifth segments form a seam on a sidewall of a box formed from the box template. In some cases, the seam formed by the first and fifth segments is offset from seams formed in top and bottom surfaces of the box. The seam formed by the first and fifth segments is offset from a corner of the box.
PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING BAGS FOR PACKAGING ITEMS, AND BAG PRODUCED THEREFROM
A process is for manufacturing bags and a bag forming web. A bag is produced therefrom. The process includes conveying a continuous printed web including printed features along a conveying direction. The continuous printed web is cut into printed web sections along the conveying direction, and at least two of the printed web sections include(s) portion(s) of the printed features. The printed web sections are spaced-apart and a second continuous web is inserted between adjacent ones of the spaced-apart printed web sections, while an alignment between the printed web sections including printed features is maintained one relative to the other, along the conveying direction. The second continuous web is secured to the adjacent and spaced-apart printed web sections along longitudinal adjacent edges, thus forming a combined continuous bag forming web. Bags are formed from the combined continuous bag forming web, and the features on the different printed sections of the bags are in alignment.
FOLDING APPARATUS FOR FOLDING SHEET PACKAGING ELEMENTS
Folding apparatus (1) for folding sheet packaging elements (2), comprising main conveying means (12), configured to sequentially receive the packaging elements (2) from a feeding station (13) and to advance each packaging element (2) along a first path (A), forming means (15), carried by the main conveying means (12) and configured to cooperate in use with a first face (2b) of each packaging element (2) while the packaging element (2) is advanced along the first path (A), and folding means (18), advanced by auxiliary conveying means (16) along a second path (Q), having a first portion (Q1) distinct from the first path (A) and a second portion (Q2), which is in common with the first path (A) and along which the folding means (18) cooperate with a second face (2a), opposite the first face (2b), of each packaging element (2) to fold the packaging element (2) against the forming means (15).
Protective Packaging For Items
Protective packaging is described that includes a base having an outer and an inner base wall. A plurality of sidewalls extends from the outer base wall to define an internal volume and an opening. The internal volume is opposite the outer base wall. The inner base wall is disposed within the internal volume spaced apart from the outer base wall. A cover includes an outer cover wall and an inner cover wall. The cover is rotatably attached to at least one sidewall. The cover is rotatable between a closed position in which the cover closes the opening and an open position in which the cover does not close the opening. In the closed position, the inner cover wall is within the internal volume and spaced apart from the outer cover wall and the inner base wall. The inner base wall and the inner cover wall receive or house an item.
