A method is proposed for manufacturing a cup intended for containing a food beverage. The method includes cutting out at least one sheet of coated paperboard to form a side wall and a bottom and joining the sheets thus cut out by heat-sealing to form the cup. The at least one paperboard sheet is coated on at least the interior side of the cup with a biodegradable varnish according to a coating/spreading technique. In this way, the cup is easy to manufacture, and complies with environmental standards in being easy to recycle and compost, even at home. Thus, the biodegradable varnish does not disturb or pollute the operation of the pulper used in the paper industry.

Modular box assembly

A modular box assembly includes a box; a first thermal liner constructed of a first length of pre-laminated material, the pre-laminated material comprising an insulation batt in facing contact with a first sheet and with a second sheet, the first thermal liner defining three first liner panels; and a second thermal liner constructed of a second length of the pre-laminated material, the second thermal liner defining three second liner panels. A bottom box panel is covered by one of a first liner panel not covering any side box panel and a second liner panel not covering any side box panel. The insulation batt is formed from a mixture of reinforcement fibers and thermoplastic binder fibers, the reinforcement fibers comprising one of natural fibers, recycled cardboard, and a mixture of recycled cardboard and paper fibers.

Carton having integrated pouch cup for meal preparation and consumption and method for producing same

A carton, formed from a blank, has an integrated pouch cup for meal preparation and consumption. The blank comprises a main panel, a first side panel adjoining the main panel along a first fold line, and a second side panel adjoining the main panel along a second fold line. A bottom panel adjoins the main panel along a third fold line. The bottom panel has first and second bottom sections having a crease in between. The bottom panel further comprising an attachment tab section which extends from the second bottom section. The bottom panel has a width which is less than the width of the main panel so as to form open edge portions at a bottom edge of the main panel on both sides of the bottom panel, the open edge portions extending to the first and second fold lines.

A method of manufacturing a modular box assembly comprises constructing an insulation batt by combining thermoplastic binder fibers and reinforcement fibers in a fibrous web and heating the batt to a temperature exceeding a glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic binder fibers and melting of the thermoplastic binder fibers. Pre-laminated material is constructed by attaching a first sheet in facing contact with the insulation batt and attaching a second sheet in facing contact with the insulation batt opposite the first sheet. The pre-laminated material is cut to size to define first and second laminated members. Portions of the laminated member are folded to form first and second thermal liners. The first and second thermal liners are positioned in a box cavity defined by a box such that the first thermal liner and the second thermal liner together form an insulated cavity within the box cavity.

Method for Manufacturing an Object and Packaging

A method for manufacturing an object, such as a tray includes providing an unfolded sheet; providing a straight score line in the unfolded sheet for providing a division between a wall part and a flange part; folding the flange part of the sheet relative to the wall part along the score line to provide an angle larger than 45? between the flange part and the wall part; providing a plastic foil; heating the plastic foil; pressing the heated foil on the sheet at the side provided with the score line and covering at least part of the wall part and the flange part; the sheet having at least one U-shaped cut interrupting the score line. The free ends of the U-shaped cut are positioned on the score line. The bridging part of the U-shaped cut is positioned in the flange part.
