A HUMIDIFICATION ASSEMBLY

This invention relates to a humidification assembly or kit for use in a respiratory support system for delivering humidified gas to a user or patient. The assembly or kit comprises a fluid reservoir, and a humidification chamber. The fluid reservoir and the humidification chamber are provided in fluid connection with each other, wherein a connection between each of the fluid reservoir and the humidification chamber provides a pre-determined force of retention and/or resistance to disconnection or is a permanent type connection.

11045621 · 2021-06-29 ·

In this disclosure, a breathing support system is presented which automates and regulates the use of a bag valve mask (commonly known as an ambu bag). The system can use mechanical actuators, sensors and a smart feedback control mechanism to automate and regulate the operation of the ambu bag to implement core functions of mechanical ventilation for life-saving applications. The system can also be used to provide better breathing support to newborns (e.g. to prevent hypoxia).

GUIDEWIRE MANAGEMENT CLIP

A method for managing a guidewire in preparation for a surgical operation, comprising attaching a block of resilient polymer to a coiled tube which contains a guidewire; attaching to the block of resilient polymer a card having printed information concerning the guidewire on a planar surface of the card; removing the guidewire from the coiled tube; removing the block of resilient polymer from the coiled tube while keeping the card having printed information attached to the block of resilient polymer; coiling the guidewire into a flat spiral form; capturing, in a slot formed in the block of resilient polymer, a plurality of portions of the guidewire, which portions are adjacent to and parallel with each other, thereby maintaining the guidewire in the flat spiral form.

Aromatherapy Sensory Tool
20210283365 · 2021-09-16 ·

An aromatherapy sensory tool is designed for users to help self-regulate the body, emotions, and feelings of stress/anxiety or other emotions. The aromatherapy sensory tool includes an outer gas-permeable enclosure, an inner gas-permeable enclosure, a quantity of absorbent filling, and a quantity of aromatherapy fluid. When in use, the outer gas-permeable enclosure prevents the leak of the quantity of aromatherapy fluid while allowing the smell of the quantity of aromatherapy fluid pass through and reach the user. The inner gas-permeable enclosure is designed to contain the quantity of absorbent filling within the outer gas-permeable enclosure. Similarly, the inner gas-permeable enclosure prevents the leak of the quantity of aromatherapy fluid while allowing the smell of the quantity of aromatherapy fluid to exit out of the outer gas-permeable enclosure. The quantity of absorbent filling retains the quantity of aromatherapy fluid and diffuses the quantity of aromatherapy fluid for aromatherapy purposes.

Integrated rapid chemical delivery systems

A rapid chemical delivery system is presented. The system includes a portable handheld chemical storage receiving receptacle, wherein the receptacle is configured to receive and mate with an insertable chemical container and wherein the container houses a chemical. The system also includes a base affixed to the chemical storage receptacle, wherein a side of the base is configured to connect with an object and another opposing side is configured to attach to the chemical storage receptacle. The system further includes a rapid chemical deployment mechanism utilizing the portable handheld chemical storage receptacle and arranged to deploy the chemical from the chemical container when activated.

MULTI-MODE RESPIRATORY THERAPY APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD

A respiratory therapy apparatus is operable to deliver multiple types of therapy to a patient. The apparatus includes a main housing and a nebulizer tray that selectively attaches to a bottom of the main housing. The apparatus also includes a filter housing unit having an antenna surrounding a pneumatic passage and a transponder chip coupled to the antenna. The main housing has also has an antenna that surrounds a respective pneumatic passage of a main outlet port of the apparatus. The main housing includes a reader that controls communication between the antennae. The main housing of the apparatus also has a pivotable hose support plate, a firmware upgrade port underneath part of the top wall of the housing, and a graphical user interface (GUI) that displays various user inputs for control of the apparatus and that displays various alert conditions that are detected.

Shielding assemblies for infusion systems

A shielding assembly for an infusion system includes a plurality of compartments and a door for each compartment, and provides a radioactive radiation barrier for the compartments. One of the compartments contains a radioisotope generator of the infusion system and another of the compartments may contain a waste bottle of the infusion system. An opening into each of the generator and waste bottle compartments may be oriented upward, and the opening into the latter may be at a higher elevation than the opening into the former, for example, to facilitate independent removal and replacement of each. A door of at least one of the compartments, other than the generator compartment, when closed, may prevent the door of the generator compartment from being opened. A cabinet structure for the infusion system may enclose the shielding assembly and secure the generator.

Artificial ventilation apparatus with ventilation modes suited to cardiac massage

Disclosed is a method of controlling a respiratory assistance apparatus delivering a flow of gas, particularly a flow of air, having the steps of measuring at least one parameter indicative of the flow of gas; converting at least one parameter indicative of the flow of gas into at least one signal indicative of the flow of gas; processing at least one signal indicative of the flow of gas in order therefrom to deduce at least one item of information relating to cardiac massage being performed on a patient in cardiac arrest; on the basis of at least one deduced item of information, automatically selecting a given ventilation mode from among a number of stored ventilation modes, and controlling the respiratory assistance apparatus by applying the selected ventilation mode.
