A system and process for making a container or pouch that separates the cutting and sealing steps into two distinct steps with a separate step of rotating the container or pouch template 90 degrees relative to a direction of travel between the cutting and sealing steps.

An environmentally-friendly alternative to polyethylene garment and other product packages is made of paper, which can be recycled, re-pulped or composted. Each such package includes two parallel coextensive elongated sheets of paper joined together along their respective side edges and along a top edge by heat seal or an adhesive. The two sheets of paper define an expandable volume therebetween. Central portions of the two sheets of paper are separable from each other to increase the volume to accept an article of clothing or other product. Rolls of paper-based product protection material may be manufactured, from which individual packages may be made or cut. Methods and apparatus for manufacturing the product protection material are disclosed.

Disclosed are embodiments of a versatile storage bag and methods of making same. The versatile storage bag may have first and second sidewalls, a double-locking closure mechanism with a first closure element extending along the first sidewall and a second closure element extending along the second sidewall, each closure element having a channel and an elongated member configured for interlocking with one another. A double-seal along three sides of the first sidewall and the second sidewall form a gusset between two seals, leaving an opening through the double-locking closure mechanism. Corner seals may be formed at the corners of the first and second sidewalls, further reinforcing the double-locking closure mechanism for an airtight and hence waterproof seal. The versatile storage bag may be made of a food-grade polyethylene vinyl acetate blend, approximately 90% or less ethylene vinyl acetate and approximately 10% or less polyethylene.

Bags are made, with which a stack is formed. To do this, a tube is formed with a strip of flexible material, a portion of tube is separated at the front of the tube forming a first flap at the rear of the portion of tube, the first flap prolonging the first wall of the portion beyond the end of the second wall adjacent to the first wall, a bag is formed with each portion of tube, and a stack of bags is formed, the first wall of the first of the bags being against the second wall of the adjacent second bag. An anti-adhesive coating is applied on to the first wall of the first bag and a coat of adhesive is applied on to the second wall of the second bag ensuring the temporary attachment with the anti-adhesive coating.

A tab system for a folder (10a), and a method of making same is disclosed. The tab is enlarged to carry more information/indicia. The visual indicia space (16a), i.e. the viewable space on the front (32a, 36a) of the folder which allows viewing of the enlarged tab is achieve without violating the overall size restrictions (40a) of the file folder. Instead, the front of the folder adjacent to the tab on the back panel, is cut away (32a,34a) to expose a greater portion of the back panel (14a) and allow an increase in visual indicia space. The remaining portion of the front panel, not adjacent to the tab may also be cut away (34a) to allow other enlarged tab files, with offset tabs,(22, 21a) to be viewable behind the present file.

A method for producing a bag from a tube including transverse lines of perforations delimiting tabs of the future bag, a rear tab of a first bag being opposite a front tab of the second bag following the first. A first step involves separating the first and second bags; a second step involves separating a piece of waste remaining on one of the bags between the two tabs. The first and second steps are carried out between a first pair of separation cylinders and a second pair of cylinders, the piece of waste being clamped between the cylinders of the first pair during the first step in order to be held on the second bag, then clamped and torn off by the second pair during the second step.

An origami envelope and a method of constructing the origami envelope are enclosed. The origami envelope is quadrilateral in shape. The origami envelope comprises a top layer having a front surface and a back surface opposite to the front surface, and a bottom layer having an exterior side and an interior side opposite to the exterior side. The top layer extends to the exterior side of the bottom layer over a portion of the top envelope side to form a closure flap at the exterior side of the bottom layer.

Disclosed are embodiments of a versatile storage bag and methods of making same. The versatile storage bag may have first and second sidewalls, a double-locking closure mechanism with a first closure element extending along the first sidewall and a second closure element extending along the second sidewall, each closure element having a channel and an elongated member configured for interlocking with one another. According to some illustrative embodiments, a protective product is provided that includes: at least one expandable slit paper sheet, said at least on expandable slit paper being expanded between opposing ends of said slit paper; a first embossed paper sheet facing said expanded slit paper sheet and a second paper sheet facing an opposite side of said at least one expanded slit paper sheet, at least one of said first embossed paper sheet and said second paper sheet being fixed to said expanded slit paper sheet at the opposing ends of said expanded slit paper sheet and thereby maintaining said expanded paper in its expanded state, said first embossed paper sheet having a plurality of embossings that increase the rigidity of said embossed paper sheet, whereby inhibiting deformation of said embossed paper sheet that is fixed to said expanded slit sheet paper.
