Heat and moisture exchanger
A heat and moisture exchanger, comprises a rigid monolithic body (101). The rigid monolithic body (101) comprises a circumferential wall (102); and a structure of interconnected elements (106) surrounded by the circumferential wall (102). The structure (106) is open to fluid communication through the structure (106) between a first side (114) of the structure and a second side (115) of the structure (106) opposite the first side (114) of the structure (106). The circumferential wall (102) extends from the first side (114) to the second side (115) of the structure (106). The heat and moisture exchanger (100) is open on both of the first side (114) and the second side (115) of the structure (106), to allow fluid communication between the structure (106) and an exterior of the heat and moisture exchanger (100) on both sides (114, 115).
Flushing system
A flushing system for a catheter, in particular for a catheter of a catheter pump, comprising a supply line having a pump section, a discharge line having a pump section and a pump, wherein the diameter of the pump section of the discharge line is smaller than the diameter of the pump section of the supply conduit, the pump interacts with the pump section of the supply line for supplying flushing fluid to the catheter, and the pump interacts with the pump section of the discharge line for discharging flushing fluid from the catheter.
MULTI-MODAL WOUND TREATMENT APPARATUS
The wound treatment apparatus combines an internal negative pressure (vacuum) pump and an internal positive pressure (compressor) pump connectable to an external oxygen supply for providing both negative pressure wound therapy and hyperbaric oxygen wound therapy to a wound site. The apparatus also includes a user interface operatively connected to an electronic controller that monitors and actuates the vacuum and compressor pumps. The user interface and controller enables the apparatus to provide multiple modes of operation and the ability to selectively change between negative pressure therapy operational modes and hyperbaric oxygen operational modes.
PULMONARY DEVICE, METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DELIVERING A PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCT TO AN INDIVIDUAL
A pulmonary delivery system includes an elongated body having an openable and closeable portion thereof for receiving an insertable and replaceable container such as a cartridge of pure medical product disposed in a saline solution. The medical product may be epinephrine, insulin or nicotine disposed in a saline solution. The system also incorporates a penetrating element that is disposed in the cylinder to pierce the cartridge and release the nicotine solution into the cylinder and into or on a micron mesh grid. A flow of air created by inhaling through a mouthpiece draws air into an individual's lungs from an entrainment port and onto a grid for atomizing a mist of micron droplets through the grid. It is recognized that the air from the entrainment port further dilutes the concentration of the medical product. The grid is connected to a source of electrical power to vibrate the mesh grid.
SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND DEVICES FOR OZONE SANITIZATION OF CONTINUOUS POSITIVE AIRWAY PRESSURE DEVICES
The present invention is generally related to a device and method for sanitizing a medical instrument with ozone, in particular the invention relates to a system, method and a device for sanitizing a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) device. The device has an ozone compartment, an ozone operating system and one or more ozone distribution lines that distribute ozone to a continuous positive airway pressure device. The device may further include a heater adapter unit to connect heating systems in CPAP devices while distributing ozone to sanitize the CPAP device in accordance with the present invention.
Conveying Device for Body Fluid
A conveying device for body fluid includes a catheter tube having a distal end to be inserted into the body and a proximal end. In order to provide a conveying device which can no longer become clogged with coagulating substances, a hollow body which is arranged in a longitudinally moveable and/or rotatable manner in the catheter tube, extends from the distal end at least up to the proximal end, and forms a transport channel over its length extending in the extension direction of the catheter tube.
BITE BLOCK WITH A NEEDLE ALIGNMENT ATTACHMENT SYSTEM
A bite block with inclined surfaces fits between a patient’s upper and lower jaws to hold them apart and fixes the bite block position relative to the jaws. A support plate slides relative to the bite block to position a needle guide on the support plate along an axis of the support plate. A position stop on the support plate contacts the anterior border of the Ramus of the patient’s mandible to position the needle guide along the axis. A syringe needle is guided by the needle guide to a predetermined location to administer anesthetic, preferably to the inferior alveolar nerve as it enters the mandible. The needle guide is inclined to avoid gaging and a tongue depressor attached to the support plate positions the patient’s tongue.
Body cavity drainage devices including drainage tubes having inline portions and related methods
A body cavity drainage device includes a drainage tube with a distal end configured for insertion into the body cavity of a patient, a fluid outlet at a proximal end of the drainage tube; and an activation apparatus coupled to the drainage tube between the proximal end of the drainage tube and the distal end of the drainage tube. The activation apparatus may be configured to alter a position of the distal end of the drainage tube in response to an input at a control device of the activation apparatus, and a first portion of the drainage tube extending from the activation apparatus toward the distal end may be at least substantially coaxial with a second portion of the drainage tube extending from the activation apparatus toward the proximal end. Methods relate to forming a body cavity drainage devices.
BREATHING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS
The present invention provides a breathing assistance apparatus that has a convenient and effective method of cleaning internal conduits inside the apparatus. The breathing assistance apparatus is preferably a gases supply and humidification device. The cleaning method is a method of disinfection that is automated so minimal training is required to disinfect in particular an internal elbow conduit within the device. It is therefore not necessary to dismantle the gases supply and humidification device, therefore, inadvertent damage to the internal parts of the device is avoided. The present invention also provides a method of disinfecting a heated breathing conduit and a patient interface.
Medical tube clearance device
Methods and devices for actuating a clearance device to clear obstructive debris from medical tubes are disclosed. More particularly, a shuttle that includes a first primary magnetic element that is adapted to magnetically engage and translate a magnetic guide within a tube is disclosed. The first primary magnetic element is aligned so that a first primary magnetic field emanating therefrom is aligned substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the tube when viewed from a side of the shuttle.
