Combination printer and cutting apparatus
A combination printer and cutting device for printing upon and cutting a web of media or tag stock into individual units. The device may cut vinyl, plastic, or RFID stock material as it moves through the printer in both back and forth directions. The device comprises a printer and a cutting apparatus that is further comprised of a carriage assembly and a movable cutter assembly. The cutter assembly is easily interchangeable and comprises a cutting element such as a wheel blade, and a pressure adjusting element for adjusting the amount of pressure applied by the cutting element to the stock material. Alternatively, the cutter assembly may be manufactured with a predetermined pressure load, but still permit an operator to adjust the depth of cut. The cutting apparatus is adaptable for use with both new and existing printers.
Variable printed UV curable adhesive retail signs
An adhesive sign suited to use in retail applications includes a substrate layer. An adhesive layer is disposed on the substrate layer. The adhesive layer defines an exposed region for attachment to an associated structure. The adhesive layer is derived from a photo-curable inkjet composition. An ink layer is disposed on the substrate layer. The ink layer includes an image. The ink layer is derived from a photo-curable inkjet composition. The adhesive layer and ink layer can be formed in the same inkjet printing process and cured in a common photo-curing station. A stack of the adhesive signs can be assembled without interleaving a release liner between each pair of signs.
HEAT-SHRINKABLE FILM, HEAT SHRINK LABEL, AND PACKAGE
The invention provides a heat-shrinkable film that has (1) a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 90-140 C.; (2) shrinkage of 12% or less in a main shrinkage direction when treated in glycerin at 80 C. for 10 seconds; (3) shrinkage of 12% or less in a direction orthogonal to the main shrinkage direction when treated in glycerin at 140 C. for 10 seconds; (4) shrinkage of 30%-80% in the main shrinkage direction when treated in glycerin at 140 C. for 10 seconds; (5) a tensile elongation at break of 10% or more both in the main shrinkage direction and the orthogonal direction after aging of 672 hours at 50 C. and 70% RH; and (6) a difference of 5% or less between shrinkage at 140 C. in the main shrinkage direction after aging of 672 hours at 50 C. and 70% RH, and shrinkage at 140 C. in the main shrinkage direction before the aging.
Duplex liners and methods of making and using same
A duplex liner for a shipping label. A method for making a liner for a shipping label comprises providing a first ply. The first is a clear plastic sheet. The method includes providing a second ply. The second ply comprises printable paper. The method comprises applying a copolymerized emulsion on an underside of the first ply, and using press rollers to press the first ply against the second ply to cause the copolymerized emulsion to fuse the first ply and the second ply.
METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT FOR PRODUCING A LABEL WITH INTEGRATED ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE PATTERN
A method and an arrangement for forming a label with an electrically conductive pattern (201), comprising the steps: providing a first roll (102) of a face material web (200); forming a conductive material (201) in a pattern corresponding to said electrically conductive pattern on a surface of the face material web; providing a second roll (106) of a backing material web (202); applying a layer of adhesive (204) on a surface of the backing material web; forming holes (205) in the backing material web, before or after said application of adhesive; bringing the backing material web and the face material web together, so that the conductive material and the adhesive are facing each other, between the face material web and the backing material web, and whereby the holes are arranged overlying dedicated contact areas formed in the electrically conductive pattern; laminating the face sheet material with the electrically conductive pattern and the backing sheet material with the adhesive together; and re-winding the laminated web on a third roll (113).
Method Of Affixing Indicia On A Product
A label web including a substrate is provided. The label web includes a first label removably affixed to a first side of the substrate. The first label is fabricated from a first material. A second label is removably affixed to the first side of the substrate adjacent to the first label in a side-by-side relationship. The second label is fabricated from a second material which differs from the first material. The first labels may be utilized to print desired information thereon and the second labels may fabricated from a transparent, protective material coating which may positioned on the first labels to discourage damage to the first labels from exposure to water or handling when the first labels are affixed to corresponding products.
IN-LINE PRODUCTION OF LINERLESS LABELS
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method of labeling a plurality of products includes coating a pressure sensitive adhesive to a roll of face stock, the roll of face stock configured to be converted to a plurality of individual labels aligned in a single lane; singulating an individual label from the roll of face stock; and applying the individual label to a product of the plurality of products, wherein the coating, singulating and applying are conducted sequentially in a single continuous operation with a single continuous web of material.
Array of Printed Information Sheets for a Business Establishment
An array of printed information sheets to be placed in a business establishment includes at least two stacks of printed information sheets being detachably connected to each other. Each stack of printed information sheets includes at least a first multiple product information sheet and a second information sheet that are removably attached to each other or to the stack. The first multiple product information sheet has printed thereon first product information about a first product to be displayed in the business establishment and a first location indicator indicating a first predetermined location in the business establishment where the first multiple product information sheet is to be displayed. The second multiple product information sheet has printed thereon second product information about a second product to be displayed in the business establishment and a second location indicator indicating a second predetermined location in the business establishment where the second multiple product information sheet is to be displayed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A STRIP OF MATERIAL WITH AN INTEGRATED ELECTRONIC COMPONENT
The method for producing a strip of material with an integrated electronic component comprises the following steps according to the present invention: feeding a material web, cutting a first piece of material from the material web, lifting the first piece of material, applying an electronic component to the material web, once again feeding the material web with the electronic component located on it, cutting a piece of material from the material web to obtain a second piece of material on which the electronic component is located, and applying the first piece of material to the second piece of material so that the electronic component is accommodated between the first piece of material and the second piece of material.
