An apparatus and method for producing self-adhesive labels, in particular in a self-service area, for example of a drug store, is provided. The apparatus comprises a dye-sublimation thermal printer, as a printing means for printing a printing pattern onto an adhesive film, and a cutting apparatus for cutting the adhesive film along a cutting pattern, the adhesive film being moved automatically from the printing means to the cutting apparatus. Initially, only a first moving unit of the printing means moves the adhesive film at a first speed to a second moving unit of the cutting apparatus, after which both moving units move the printed adhesive film further in the forward direction.

The disclosure discloses a label producing apparatus including a driving roller, a driven roller, a driving force transmission mechanism, and a coordination adjusting mechanism. The driving roller is disposed to a downstream side of a movable blade on a tape feeding path and configured to contact and discharge a label tape. The driven roller is configured to advance and retreat with respect to the tape feeding path. The driving force transmission mechanism is configured to perform a switching operation between a transmission state where a driving force of a motor is transmitted to the driving roller and an interruption state where the transmission of the driving force to the driving roller is interrupted. The coordination adjusting mechanism is configured to adjust an advancing and retreating operation of the driven roller, an advancing and retreating operation of the movable blade, and the switching operation of the driving force transmission mechanism into a desired mutually coordinated-mode, these operations being performed by the driving force of the motor in accordance with a rotation of the motor in one direction.

Method for the production of labels, and multi-layer composite
10363728 · 2019-07-30 · ·

A method produces labels having multiple sheets glued together in a first surface region of the basic label and lying loosely on top of each other in a second surface region. After printing an anti-adhesion layer in first surface regions and a frame region, webs are applied and printed to produce lowermost label sheets. An anti-adhesion layer is printed onto the last web in third surface regions lying between the first and/or second surface regions and the frame region. After punching the material web between the third surface regions and the first and/or second surface regions, an outermost web is applied and printed. By punching a frame through all webs, a lattice take-off is severed, simultaneously forming an outermost sheet section in each third surface region projecting laterally beyond the lowermost label sheets.

DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAKING CUSTOM PRINTED PRODUCTS

A device, system and method for making custom printed products. In one embodiment of the method, an image is received from a user device along with a size of for the printed product. Pixel edge detection is performed on the image to generate a plurality of polygons corresponding to all shapes in the image. Polygons below a size threshold are removed. An offset is applied to each polygon. The polygons are combined. A smoothing algorithm is applied to the combined polygon. A set of curves that define the smoothed polygon is determined. A cut path is dynamically generating for the printed product in real-time in dependence on the set of curves and the received size so that the cut path has a shape dependent on the set of curves and a size dependent on the received size. The image is printed on a substrate material for the image product in dependence on the received size and the offset so that the printed image has a printed size equal to the received size less the offset. The substrate is cut in dependence on the cut path.

The present application is directed to an identification system that is configured to be attached to an object. The identification system includes one or more tags that can be manipulated to uniquely identify the object. The manipulation can include removing one or more of the tags and/or marking one or more of the tags.

MATERIAL WEB WITH LABELS OF DIFFERENT LABEL VARIANTS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING LABELS OF DIFFERENT LABEL VARIANTS

A method for producing labels of different label variants includes: performing first and second printing operations to form on a source material web using a digital printing device first and second digital prints associated with first and second label variants, respectively, the two digital prints differing at least with respect to a respective print image; forming on the source material web a machine-readable indicating element detectably different from the first and second label variants and arranged to indicate a change of label variant type; and die cutting to form a material web and processing the web, including controlling and making up the first label variant, detecting the indicating element using a controller, cutting the web in the transition between the label variants and controlling and making up the second label variant so that separate first and second label webs are formed with the first and second label variants, respectively.

Label Web With Multiple Side-By-Side Labels

A label web including a substrate is provided. The label web includes a first label removably affixed to a first side of the substrate. The first label is fabricated from a first material. A second label is removably affixed to the first side of the substrate adjacent to the first label in a side-by-side relationship. The second label is fabricated from a second material which differs from the first material. The first labels may be utilized to print desired information thereon and the second labels may fabricated from a transparent, protective material coating which may positioned on the first labels to discourage damage to the first labels from exposure to water or handling when the first labels are affixed to corresponding products.
