A butt crack swab with a pressed molded fiber substrate, a conformal flushable wipe and a binder material. The pressed molded fiber substrate is shaped to fit within the intergluteal cleft of a person and in close proximity to the cluneal cleft. The conformal flushable wipe is fused on top of the molded fiber substrate via the binder material. A preferred embodiment includes the pressed molded fiber substrate made of recyclable material.

An apparatus may be configured for providing feedback to caregivers during a code blue scenario when adhered to the chest of a subject undergoing resuscitation by sensing and transmitting information associated with the code blue scenario. Such information may include one or more of vital signs of the subject during resuscitation, information associated with chest movements of the subject during resuscitation, and audio information from an environment of the subject during resuscitation. One or more processors may generate real-time feedback for communication to the caregivers during the code blue scenario based on the sensed and transmitted information.

A navel retainer and related techniques are disclosed. The retainer may be configured to be deployed within a navel such that its body portion interfaces with tissue therein. In some embodiments, the retainer may include an adjustment mechanism configured to expand and collapse the size and, optionally, geometry of the body portion. In some embodiments, the retainer may be a resilient element, allowing it to be temporarily compressed and subsequently allowed to expand in size, in some cases also optionally changing its geometry. In either manner, the retainer may be adjusted in size and/or geometry to buttress the tissue of the navel, minimizing or otherwise reducing opportunity for navel contracture during a healing process. The band pocket (23) prevents a lateral movement of the monitor and a band pocket wall (231) exerts a pressing force to keep the monitor contact points (31), (32) in an abutting engagement with the band contact points (210), (220). Methods and apparatus for administering oxygen therapy, and particularly high-flow oxygen therapy is disclosed herein. A respiratory monitoring system may non-invasively determine average peak inspiratory flow rate of a patient based on biofeedback response received from the patient. Medical air, oxygen, or a combination of both may be delivered to the patient at a flow rate equal to greater than the determined average peak inspiratory flow rate of the patient to meet or exceed inspiratory demand of the patient. Fraction of oxygen inspired by the patient may be determined based on the average peak inspiratory flow rate and may be adjusted through high-flow oxygen therapy meeting inspiratory demand to prevent entrainment of ambient air or through low-flow oxygen therapy by accounting for entrainment of ambient air based on the average peak inspiratory flow rate to address medical needs of the patient.
