LIGHT WEIGHT LINERBOARD FOR CORRUGATED BOARD
The invention relates to a method to produce a linerboard exhibiting a high bending resistance and a high compression strength, which in turn provides high resistance to interflute buckling and sagging in a thereof formed corrugated board. This is achieved by the inventive combination of an optimized fiber refining level of the furnish in each layer of the linerboard, the separate formation of the top layer and the use of a multi-layer headbox to form the two-layered ply. In addition, the linerboard made according to the invention provides good printing properties in a thereof produced corrugated board, especially in flexographic printing, without the fluting structure being negatively affected.
PATTERNED LIQUID REPELLENT NANOCELLULOSIC FILM
A textured film is provided which comprises nanocellulose. At least a first surface of the film comprises a patterned, textured surface formed by repeating protruding regions and at least one non-protruding region arranged between said protruding regions. A particular height difference between the protruding and non-protruding regions can give liquid repellent properties. Methods for making the textured film are also provided.
Three-dimensionally stretchable single crystalline semiconductor membrane
A structure including a three-dimensionally stretchable single crystalline semiconductor membrane located on a substrate is provided. The structure is formed by providing a three-dimensional (3D) wavy silicon germanium alloy layer on a silicon handler substrate. A single crystalline semiconductor material membrane is then formed on a physically exposed surface of the 3D wavy silicon germanium alloy layer. A substrate is then formed on a physically exposed surface of the single crystalline semiconductor material membrane. The 3D wavy silicon germanium alloy layer and the silicon handler substrate are thereafter removed providing the structure.
Three-dimensionally stretchable single crystalline semiconductor membrane
A structure including a three-dimensionally stretchable single crystalline semiconductor membrane located on a substrate is provided. The structure is formed by providing a three-dimensional (3D) wavy silicon germanium alloy layer on a silicon handler substrate. A single crystalline semiconductor material membrane is then formed on a physically exposed surface of the 3D wavy silicon germanium alloy layer. A substrate is then formed on a physically exposed surface of the single crystalline semiconductor material membrane. The 3D wavy silicon germanium alloy layer and the silicon handler substrate are thereafter removed providing the structure.
MULTI-CORE ACOUSTIC PANEL FOR AN AIRCRAFT PROPULSION SYSTEM
An apparatus is provided for an aircraft propulsion system. This apparatus includes an acoustic panel and a mount. The acoustic panel includes a perforated face skin, a back skin, a perforated intermediate layer, a first cellular core and a second cellular core. The first cellular core includes a first section and a second section. The first section is between and is connected to the perforated face skin and the perforated intermediate layer. The second section is between and is connected to the perforated face skin and the back skin. The second cellular core is between and is connected to the perforated intermediate layer and the back skin. The mount is attached to the back skin along the second section.
Methods of making fibrous structures with shaped polymer particles
A fibrous structure comprising first and second plies. The first ply comprises a first textured substrate comprising a first side comprising first discrete regions and a first continuous region extending between the first discrete regions, each first discrete region comprising an outer section and sidewall sections extending outwardly from the adjacent first continuous region to the outer section; a second side comprising first discrete portions corresponding to the first discrete regions and a first continuous portion corresponding to the first continuous region; and first polymer particles deposited on at least one of the first side or the second side. When the first polymer particles are deposited on the first side, the first polymer particles are substantially deposited on the outer sections of the first discrete regions and do not extend to the adjacent first continuous region. When the first polymer particles are deposited on the second side, the first polymer particles are substantially deposited on the first continuous portion and do not extend to the adjacent first discrete portions. At least a section of each of the first polymer particles defines a raised edge. The second ply comprises a second substrate joined to the first textured substrate.
Methods of making fibrous structures with shaped polymer particles
A fibrous structure comprising first and second plies. The first ply comprises a first textured substrate comprising a first side comprising first discrete regions and a first continuous region extending between the first discrete regions, each first discrete region comprising an outer section and sidewall sections extending outwardly from the adjacent first continuous region to the outer section; a second side comprising first discrete portions corresponding to the first discrete regions and a first continuous portion corresponding to the first continuous region; and first polymer particles deposited on at least one of the first side or the second side. When the first polymer particles are deposited on the first side, the first polymer particles are substantially deposited on the outer sections of the first discrete regions and do not extend to the adjacent first continuous region. When the first polymer particles are deposited on the second side, the first polymer particles are substantially deposited on the first continuous portion and do not extend to the adjacent first discrete portions. At least a section of each of the first polymer particles defines a raised edge. The second ply comprises a second substrate joined to the first textured substrate.
