POLYETHYLENE FILM, LAMINATE AND PACKAGE USING THE SAME
There is provided a polyethylene film and a laminate which can be used to produce a package having high heat resistance, strength and recycling suitability, as an alternative to laminated films conventionally used for a package. The polyethylene film according to the present invention is irradiated with an electron beam on its only one side, wherein crosslink densities in the polyethylene are different between the side irradiated with an electron beam and the other side not irradiated with an electron beam.
POLYMER CONDUCTOR SHEETS, SOLAR CELLS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING SAME
The present invention relates to polymer conductor sheets comprising zones featuring different degrees of polymerization and/or crosslinking within the same polymer sheet, wherein the zones differ, for example, in mechanical stability, ductility and/or (thermo)adhesiveness. The present invention also teaches devices comprising these zoned polymer conductor sheets such as solar cell strings, matrices and modules, uses thereof and methods for producing these.
MULTI-COMPONENT FILMS
A non-fibrous film has at least one film body that is non-fibrous, and at least one film element that is non-fibrous. The film element is coupled to the film body at an interface that is non-continuous across a film width of the non-fibrous film. The non-fibrous film has at least one of the following characteristics: the interface has at least one mechanical property having a value that is different than the value of the mechanical property of at least one of the film element and the film body, and/or the film element has at least one mechanical property having a value that is different than the value of the mechanical property of the film body.
Composite elastic laminate having discrete film segments
An elastic laminate is provided including outer facing layers of a fabric and, located between the outer facing layers, a series of individual, spaced apart strips of elastic film extending continuously along the direction of elasticity. The film strips are formed by a controlled tearing of a continuous film while the film is biaxially stretched and bonded to the fabric facings. The fabric facings have gathers formed therein that allow the elastic laminate to stretch at least to the extent that the gathers can be pulled flat.
System and Method for Additive Manufacturing of a Three-Dimensional Object
A method for additive manufacturing of a three-dimensional object includes: a) identifying a set of sequentially extending planar cross-sectional shapes of the three-dimensional object; b) cutting a metal sheet into a plurality of planar metal pieces, each metal piece cut to a metal piece shape corresponding to a respective one of the cross-sectional shapes, wherein the metal sheet has a first face with a first plurality of barbs extending therefrom, and an opposed second face with a second plurality of barbs extending therefrom; c) cutting a substrate sheet into a plurality of planar substrate pieces, each substrate sheet cut to a substrate piece shape corresponding to a respective one of the cross-sectional shapes; and d) positioning the metal pieces and the substrate pieces in facing relation in an alternating pattern and in sequential order, and pressing the metal pieces and substrate pieces together to force the barbs to penetrate the substrate pieces.
ACTIVATED COMPOSITE WEB FOR ABSORPTIVE DEVICES
An activated composite web includes a nonwoven layer, and a formed film layer attached to the nonwoven layer. The formed film layer includes a plurality of first apertured protuberances having a mesh count of at least 35, and a plurality of second apertured protuberances. Each of the second apertured protuberances has a cross-sectional area larger than each of the first apertured protuberances. A plurality of first lanes are aligned in a first direction and have a first width extending in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The first apertured protuberances are located in the first lanes. A plurality of second lanes are aligned in the first direction and have a second width, less than the first width, extending in the second direction. The first lanes and the second lanes alternate with each other in the second direction. The second apertured protuberances are located in the second lanes.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A FLAME-RESISTANT TEXTILE MATERIAL FOR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, FLAME-RESISTANT TEXTILE MATERIAL, AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING MADE THEREOF
A method for manufacturing a flame-resistant textile material for protective clothing is characterized in that at least one textile layer is subjected to a treatment step wherein at least one fibre component is at least partially detached from the textile layer such that air chambers (5) are formed.
Method and apparatus for reticulating an adhesive to the surface network of a cellular core structure
A present system of the present application provides for reticulating adhesive to the surface network of cellular core. As such, the present invention allows for substantial improvements over prior systems. The present invention may be implemented with any aircraft, wind turbine, rocket, space satellite, or land vehicle, but there is nothing within the spirit and scope of the present invention limiting it to any particular application. The teachings of the present invention are useful to any composite structure utilizing cellular core.
SHAPED NONWOVEN FABRICS AND ARTICLES INCLUDING THE SAME
A three-dimensional, nonwoven substrate having at least a non-apertured zone and an apertured zone, and articles or absorbent articles including one of more of such substrates are provided.
FILM, PACKAGING BAG USING THE FILM, AND METHOD OF IMPARTING HEAT SEALING PROPERTIES TO THE FILM
A film having heat sealing properties, a packaging bag using the film and a method of imparting heat sealing properties to the film are provided. The film is made up of a single layer of biaxially stretched polyester or made up of a laminate including the layer of biaxially stretched polyester at a surface. The layer of biaxially stretched polyester includes a non-sealing portion having no heat sealing properties, and a sealing portion having heat sealing properties due to irradiation of laser light and exhibiting lower crystallinity compared to that of the non-sealing portion.
