METHODS AND DEVICES TO PREVENT PREMATURE BIRTH
Methods and devices to affect types, proportion, quantity, distribution, or proliferation of microorganisms within a female reproductive system.
Method for decolonizing mammalian skin
A method for insertion, maintenance, and removal of urethral catheters in mammals including humans includes steps for preventing or reducing the incidence of catheter associated urinary tract infections. In addition to sterile procedures currently practiced or as may be practiced in the future in connection with catheter use, the method includes the steps of applying an antiseptic, zwitterionic, and acidic skincare solution capable of preserving the stratum corneum to the perineum, meatus, and contiguous mucosa surrounding the insertion site before insertion, after insertion, periodically during the period of indwelling, in connection with any incidence of incontinence, and, optionally, before and after removal of the catheter. Application of the solution optionally is continued after catheter removal on a periodic basis until the threat of an infection associated with catheter use has passed, typically at least about five (5) to seven (7) days and up to thirty (30) days. The solution pH is desirably from about 4.4 to 5.5.
Disposable pass through dilator and method of use
A dilator includes a tubular member composed of a flexible material, the tubular member forming a channel; wires extending inwardly from an interior of the tubular member into the channel; a string attached to the wires and extending through the channel; and a handle attached to the string; pulling the handle applies force to the string; force to the string causes the string to disengage from the wires such that the wires recoil against the interior of the tubular member such that the tubular member takes on a diameter of a predetermined dimension; and the tubular member in a recoiled state provides for dilation of a canal.
INTIMATE SKIN CONDITIONER VEIL COMPRISING SKIN WELL-BEING AGENT
An intimate skin conditioner veil, configured to be positioned in an undergarment so that it covers the mons pubis in front of the anterior labia commissure of a female user, without covering any part of the vulval vestibule area of the user, wherein the veil has a longitudinal central line extending in the longitudinal direction thereof, and wherein the veil includes a front edge and first and second side edges, and a main portion, the main portion preferably being reflection symmetric about the longitudinal central line, and wherein the veil includes a garment facing layer arranged on a garment facing side of the veil, and a space creating layer arranged on a skin contacting side of the veil, and the veil further comprises an additive composition in the form of a skin well-being agent or a carrier substance carrying a skin well-being agent.
SYSTEM FOR PREPARING THE GENITAL TRACT OF A WOMAN BEFORE A CHILDBIRTH
A system for preparing the genital tract of a woman prior to childbirth, the system including:an inflatable body intended to be placed in the genital tract of the woman, the inflatable body comprising a wall having a first, open end intended to allow air to enter the inflatable body or leave the inflatable body, and a second, closed end opposite the first end,an inflating device serving to inflate the inflatable body and connected fluidically to the first, open end of the inflatable body by a conduit;a measuring device configured to measure a dimension of the inflatable body,a control device configured to collect the measurement data from the measuring device.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR EVERTING CATHETERS WITH EXPANDABLE LUMENS
An everting catheter with an expandable inner lumen for the passage of instruments or other devices is described. The catheter can have an inflatable everting balloon. When inflated, the everting balloon can define a channel or passageway, via an inner balloon lumen, into a target site. Instruments can be delivered to the target site through the channel defined by the inflated everting balloon.
Treatment of Infection
The invention relates to compositions including a substance useful as an adjuvant for potentiating an immune response, and methods of using the composition in individuals with infections of tissue within or adjacent to a transformation zone, such as the transformation zone of the cervix or anal canal.
METHOD FOR DECOLONIZING MAMMALIAN SKIN
