VACUUM INSULATING PANEL
The present invention relates to a vacuum insulating panel (VIP). The VIP comprises an insulating core (2) having upper (3) and lower surfaces (4) and at least one substantially planar reinforcing member (5) arranged on the upper (3) or lower surface (4) of the core (2). The reinforcing member (5) is porous and substantially rigid. The VIP further comprises a barrier envelope, optionally in the form of a barrier film (6), arranged to envelop the insulating core (2) and the planar member (5). The present invention also relates to methods of manufacturing a vacuum insulating panel (VIP).
ARMOR
The present invention relates to a flexible ballistic armor apparatus for deflecting high velocity firearm, fragmentation, or shrapnel projectiles with a flexible armor unit. The apparatus minimizes the deterioration of the armor when subjected to shock waves or shear forces of a ballistic impact. The present invention also relates to the use of a flexible armor unit with soft body armor, a vehicle, a vessel, an aircraft or in structural applications.
GLUELESS DUSTLESS COMPOSITE FLOORING MATERIAL SYSTEM
A glueless dustless composite flooring material system providing PVC-based flooring having layers providing different qualities of hardness, wear-resistance, sound deadening, and decorative patterns, avoiding the use of moisture-susceptible compressed dust filler, with layers fused together, avoiding the manufacturing complexity and delamination risks of using glue or adhesive, with a quickly-cured, UV-cured top coating providing long-lasting high performance and shortening and simplifying the manufacturing, which can be done in a sheet-form, essentially continuous-run manner, with an ability to quickly and simply change the optional design printing and texturing produced, and having an optional underlayment layer.

Method and apparatus for making disposable absorbent article with absorbent particulate polymer material and article made therewith
A method for making a disposable absorbent core comprises depositing absorbent particulate polymer material from a plurality of reservoirs in a printing roll onto a substrate disposed on a grid of a support which includes a plurality of cross bars extending substantially parallel to and spaced from one another so as to form channels extending between the plurality of cross bars. The plurality of reservoirs in the first peripheral surface are arranged in an array comprising rows extending substantially parallel to and spaced from one another. A disposable absorbent article and apparatus for making an absorbent article are also disclosed.

Magnetic shield material
In a magnetic shield material including a magnetic layer containing a magnetic material and an electrically conductive layer containing an electrically conductive material, the electrically conductive layer is designed to have a thickness corresponding to a frequency band of electromagnetic wave to be shielded. More specifically, the thickness of the electrically conductive layer (thickness of the aluminum foil in the drawing) is designed to have a thickness to maximize magnetic field shield effect of the magnetic shield material (thickness of the aluminum foil corresponding to peak value frequency in curve E in the drawing) in a frequency band of electromagnetic wave to be shielded. This makes it possible to obtain good magnetic field shield effect of the magnetic shield material in the frequency band of electromagnetic wave to be shielded.
Cost-effective and eco-friendly composite product with robust impact strength
A composite product substantially reduced the impact force imposed by hard impactor which travelled at the speed in the range of 400 m/s to 1400 m/s simultaneously damping the vibrations and shocks appeared therein is disclosed. At the same time it is light weight with the weight lower than that of 22 to 38 kg/m2and is flexible to adopt the shape suitable for the end applications. A method of manufacturing the composite product of the invention is also disclosed.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE AND COMPONENTS THEREOF HAVING IMPROVED SOFTNESS SIGNALS, AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING
An absorbent article having improved softness signals is disclosed. The article may include a topsheet or a backsheet including a nonwoven web. The web may have a basis weight of 30 gsm or less, may be formed of spunlaid fibers including polyolefin and up to 5 percent by weight TiO.sub.2, and may be impressed with a pattern of bond impressions to a bond area percentage of at least 10 percent forming a pattern of bonded regions and raised regions. The web may have opacity of 42 or greater; have an average height difference between bonded regions and raised regions of at least 280 μm; be hydroengorged; and/or have a cross-machine direction tensile strength of 350 gf/cm. A nonwoven web manufactured to have a suitable combination of such features exhibits an enhanced appearance of softness, soft tactile feel and satisfactory mechanical attributes, while being relatively cost effective.
MULTI-LAYER COMPOSITE MATERIAL, PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF
Multi-layer composite material, production and use thereof A multilayered composite material comprises as components: (A) a sheet material, (B) a material capable of absorbing water or aqueous fluids, (C) at least one bonding layer and (D) a polyurethane layer with capillaries passing through the entire thickness of the polyurethane layer,
wherein the polyurethane layer (D) comes into direct contact with sheet material (A) or absorption-capable material (B) in one or more places.
