An aircraft flooring system is provided, made up of a low-weight carpet tile which functions both as a moisture barrier and as the loop part of a hook-and-loop system, for coupling to a hook part of a hook-and-loop system, which is bound to an aircraft floor. Specifically, a barrier backing within the carpet tile, comprising a nonwoven fabric portion, is able to act as the moisture barrier and the loop part, which allows for coupling of the carpet tile with the floor, without the need to add additional loops to the carpet tile, thereby realizing savings in material cost and weight.

The tissue paper product includes a first inner ply being a creped ribbed ply and having a basis weight of 10 to 30 gsm, and a first outermost ply and a second outermost ply on each side of said inner ply, the first and second outermost plies being non-ribbed plies, wherein a creped ribbed ply is a ply including ribs and valleys providing an average core roughness Rk in the range 10 to 300 μm, and peaks being 4 to 12 per cm as measured along said first direction; and wherein a non-ribbed ply is a ply displaying no parallel ribs and valleys extending continuously along any direction of the ply or displaying parallel ribs and valleys extending continuously along any direction of the ply, the ribs and valleys providing peaks being less than 4 per cm.

Ultraviolet-C (UV-C) radiation shielding films including a substrate made of a fluoropolymer, a multilayer optical film disposed on a major surface of the substrate, and a heat-sealable encapsulant layer disposed on a major surface of the multilayer optical film opposite the substrate. The multilayer optical film is made of at least a multiplicity of alternating first and second optical layers collectively reflecting at an incident light angle of at least one of 0°, 30°, 45°, 60°, or 75°, at least 30 percent of incident ultraviolet light over at least a 30-nanometer wavelength reflection bandwidth in a wavelength range from at least 100 nanometers to 280 nanometers. The ultraviolet light shielding film may be applied to a major surface of a photovoltaic device, such as a component of a satellite or an unmanned aerial vehicle. Methods of making the UV-C radiation-protective films also are disclosed.

The vacuum insulation element includes first support elements (18) extending away from the first limiting part (12) into the evacuated space (16) and second support elements (20) extending away from the second limiting part (14) into the evacuated space (16), the limiting parts (12, 14) being arranged with the support elements (18, 20) such that the first support elements (18) and the second support elements (20) protrude beyond and are spaced from each other. The first support elements (18) are spaced from the second limiting part (14), and the second support elements (20) are spaced from the first limiting part (12). A fiber structure (22) interconnects the first support elements (18) and the second support elements (20). The fiber structure (22) has a low thermal conductivity and is configured to absorb at least the pressure caused by the vacuum on the first and second limiting parts (12, 14).

Embodiments are directed to systems and methods for two or more cured composite assemblies that are bonded together to form a tubular composite structure, wherein each of the cured composite assemblies do not have a tubular shape. The tubular composite structure may form a spar for an aerodynamic component, for example. The two or more cured composite assemblies may comprise carbon or fiberglass composite materials or a combination of materials. Each of the cured composite assemblies may further comprise axial edges that are configured to be bonded to another of the cured composite assemblies, wherein the axial edges have a sloped shape. An adhesive agent may be applied on the axial edges for bonding two cured composite assemblies. Alternatively, or additionally, one or more fasteners may be used to attach the axial edges of at least two cured composite assemblies.
