SELF-HEALING METAL COMPOSITE TUBE WALLS
A tubular structure including an outer tube an inner tube arranged within the outer tube and at least one chamber formed between the outer tube and the inner tube. The tubular structure additionally includes at least one self-healing material arranged in the chamber, wherein the self-healing material is configured to solidify and/or expand upon contact with a reacting material.
Vibration Reduction Sheet and Method of Reducing Vibration
Provided herein is a vibration reducing sheet comprising a damping patch, a stiffening patch, and a substrate. The substrate is connected to the damping patch and the stiffening patch, and in some embodiments, the damping patch and the stiffening patch do not contact one another. The sheet can be connected to a base structure that is prone to vibrations. Because the damping patch and the stiffening patch can thus be applied to different locations of the base structure, the two patch types can independently be positioned to provide enhanced vibration reduction and mitigation.
FLEXIBLE ADHESIVE TAPE FOR COOLING BEVERAGES, PIPES AND OTHER ARTICLES
A cooling tape and cooling pad. In a most general embodiment, the inventive tape includes a first layer of thermally conductive material; a second layer of thermal insulation; and a third layer of endothermic material, sandwiched between the first and second layers. The third layer is constructed with reactants effective to cause an endothermic chemical reaction. In a first embodiment, the invention provides a beverage cooling device. In a second embodiment, the invention provides a pipe cooling/freezing device. The cooling pad is implemented with a first layer of thermally conductive material; a second layer of material; and a third layer of endothermic material, sandwiched between the first and second layers. In the illustrative embodiment, the third layer has a contour effective to create suction whereby the pad adheres to a surface to be cooled.
FLEXIBLE ADHESIVE TAPE FOR HEATING BEVERAGES, PIPES AND OTHER ARTICLES
A heating tape and heating pad. In a most general embodiment, the inventive tape includes a first layer of thermally conductive material; a second layer of thermal insulation; and a third layer of exothermic material, sandwiched between the first and second layers. The third layer is constructed with reactants effective to cause an exothermic chemical reaction. In a first embodiment, the invention provides a beverage heating device. In a second embodiment, the invention provides a pipe heating device. The heating pad is implemented with a first layer of thermally conductive material; a second layer of material providing a base; and a third layer of exothermic material, sandwiched between the first and second layers. In the illustrative embodiment, the third layer has a contour effective to create suction whereby the pad adheres to a surface to be heated.
Ceramic electronic component
A ceramic electronic component that includes an electronic component body having a superficial base ceramic layer, a surface electrode on a surface of the electronic component body, and a covering ceramic layer covering a peripheral section of the surface electrode. The peripheral section of the surface electrode that is covered by the covering ceramic layer has an opening or a thin portion.
Multilayer conformable composites
A composite including a heat conformable polymer and a nanofiber sheet is disclosed. The heat conformable polymer can be a hot melt adhesive, and the combination can provide an electrically conductive hot melt adhesive composite. The nanofiber layer is protected and the composite is conformable and/or can be adhered to a variety of surfaces.
ADHESIVE ARTICLES PERMITTING DAMAGE FREE REMOVAL
The present disclosure provides adhesive articles that can be removed from surfaces without damage by having reduced or eliminated contribution of a core backing to peel force generated by the adhesive during removal. In some instances, this can be accomplished by a core that loses structural integrity in a direction normal to a plane defined by a major surface. In other instances, the contribution is reduced by compromising the interface between the core and a peelable adhesive layer.
COMPOSITE MATERIAL WITH ADHESION PROMOTER LAYER BASED ON SI, C AND O
A composite material includes: a substrate and a polymer layer which are interconnected by an adhesion promoter layer. The adhesion promoter layer is obtainable by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PE-CVD) at least partially using a mixture of precursor compounds containing an unsaturated hydrocarbon and an organosilicon compound. In an embodiment, the substrate includes a metal substrate or a polymer substrate.
ADHESIVE BONDING COMPOSITION AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS PREPARED FROM THE SAME
A curable resin or adhesive composition includes at least one monomer, a photoinitiator capable of initiating polymerization of the monomer when exposed to light, and at least one energy converting material, preferably a phosphor, capable of producing light when exposed to radiation (typically X-rays). The material is particularly suitable for bonding components at ambient temperature in situations where the bond joint is not accessible to an external light source. An associated method includes: placing a polymerizable adhesive composition, including a photoinitiator and energy converting material, such as a down-converting phosphor, in contact with at least two components to be bonded to form an assembly; and, irradiating the assembly with radiation at a first wavelength, capable of conversion (down-conversion by the phosphor) to a second wavelength capable of activating the photoinitiator, to prepare items such as inkjet cartridges, wafer-to-wafer assemblies, semiconductors, integrated circuits, and the like.
Acoustic Flooring Assembly
A flooring assembly comprising a flooring unit comprising a stability core layer having a plurality of edge surfaces, two of which have an interlocking mechanism for attachment to the edge surfaces of the stability core of adjacent flooring units; a sound attenuating acoustic layer attached to the bottom surface of the stability core layer; and a finish layer attached to the top surface of said stability core layer.
