Self-adhesive membrane for mitigating passive intermodulation
Materials and methods for mitigating passive intermodulation. A membrane for reducing passive intermodulation includes a first polymeric layer, a second polymeric layer, and a continuous metal layer encapsulated between the first and second polymeric layers. A self-adhesive radio frequency barrier tape includes a waterproof polymeric top layer, a metal-containing layer adhered by an adhesive layer to the polymeric top layer, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer adhered to the metal-containing layer, and a release liner on a bottom surface of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer. A method of mitigating passive intermodulation includes passing a probe over an area of interest, the probe being sensitive to an intermodulation frequency of interest, and identifying a suspected source of passive intermodulation when the amplitude of the probe output exceeds a threshold at the frequency of interest. The method further includes covering the suspected passive intermodulation source with a radio frequency barrier material.
ROOFING MEMBRANES WITH IMPROVED ADHESIVE BONDING STRENGTH
Systems and methods are described herein for manufacturing and using roofing membranes that are faster and easier to install than conventional adhesive-only membrane materials. In some embodiments, membrane materials are surface treated using a plasma flow, e.g., a blown-arc plasma flow, atmospheric plasma, corona plasma, or from portable plasma units, generated by passing a compressed plasma-generating gas through an electrical current to form the plasma-treated roofing membrane. The plasma treatments described herein may be applied as part of the manufacturing process, or in-situ at the site of roof installation. In some embodiments, membrane materials have surface chemistries, roughnesses and other surface characteristics that yield desired adhesion properties.
Mortar bed gauge device, system, and method
The present disclosure provides a mortar bed gauge device, system, and method that create a predetermined mortar bed thickness. The mortar bed gauge device includes a web of extruded polymer monofilaments having indentations on a surface of the web. The mortar bed gauge system includes the web located between a substrate layer and a finish layer. The mortar bed gauge method includes supplying the web, laying the web onto the substrate layer, placing a mortar composition onto the web, and measuring the amount of composition being placed on the web by the thickness of the web.
HOT-MELT LAMINATED SOLAR CLADDING STRIP
A hot-melt laminated solar cladding strip (1) comprising a substrate (2) of a flexible membrane, a first layer of an adhesive encapsulant (3), a single electric circuit (4) comprising solar cells (5) which positive and negative sides are interconnected with wires to a single inlet (9) and a single outlet (10), a second layer of an adhesive encapsulant (11), a single or more sheets of a transparent plastic foil (12) covering and protecting the entire circuit (4) from moisture, a third layer of an adhesive encapsulant (13) and a plurality of rigid transparent tiles (14) characterized by that the tiles (14) are positioned over one or more cells (5) forming rigid groups spaced from each other with flexible gaps (15, 15) that are positioned over tab wires (6) and/or ribbons (8) that run between said cells in said circuit allowing the strip (1) to be bent, folded or rolled.
Polyisocyanurate coverboards with improved fire resistance
A construction board includes a foam body having first and second planar surfaces, said foam body including a polyisocyanurate foam matrix defining a plurality of closed cells, said closed cells being at least substantially devoid of hydrocarbon blowing agents, and said foam body being characterized by a density, pursuant to ASTM C303, of at least 2.5 lbs/ft.sup.3; and a facer disposed on a planar surface of said foam body, said facer including a glass substrate having an internal planar surface proximate to said foam body and an external planar surface opposite said foam body, a first coating disposed on said external surface, and a second coating disposed on or proximate to said internal surface, where said first coating disposed on said external surface includes an inert filler, and where said second coating disposed on or proximate to said internal surface includes intumescent material.
WATER RESISTANT ROOFING UNDERLAYMENT
An article comprising a water resistant underlayment portion is provided comprising a first non-woven fabric layer, a film layer, a first bituminous material layer, a second non-woven fabric layer, a woven fabric layer, and a second bituminous material layer.
Overlay systems and methods of installing overlay systems
A method of installing a binder-based overlay system may include contacting a layer of geotextile fabric to a surface of a substrate and applying a primer layer to a surface of the geotextile fabric. Two or more binder layers including infill particles may be applied over the primer layer. A resurfacer layer followed by one or more color layers may be applied over the two or more binder layers. The primer layer, one or more binder layers, resurfacer layer, and two or more color layers may cure upon application to form a monolithic layer upon the substrate.
POLYISOCYANURATE COVERBOARDS WITH IMPROVED FIRE RESISTANCE
A construction board comprising a foam body having first and second planar surfaces, said foam body including a polyisocyanurate foam matrix defining a plurality of closed cells, said closed cells being at least substantially devoid of hydrocarbon blowing agents, and said foam body being characterized by a density, pursuant to ASTM C303, of at least 2.5 lbs/ft.sup.3; and a facer disposed on a planar surface of said foam body, said facer including a glass substrate having an internal planar surface proximate to said foam body and an external planar surface opposite said foam body, a first coating disposed on said external surface, and a second coating disposed on or proximate to said internal surface, where said first coating disposed on said external surface includes an inert filler, and where said second coating disposed on or proximate to said internal surface includes intumescent material.
ONE-PIECE SHINGLE REPAIR PATCH
