Transaction and ID cards having selected texture and coloring
Cards made in accordance with the invention include a specially treated thin decorative layer attached to a thick core layer of metal or ceramic material, where the thin decorative layer is designed to provide selected color(s) and/or selected texture(s) to a surface of the metal cards. Decorative layers for use in practicing the invention include: (a) an anodized metal layer; or (b) a layer of material derived from plant or animal matter (e.g., wood, leather); or (c) an assortment of aggregate binder material (e.g., cement, mortar, epoxies) mixed with laser reactive materials (e.g., finely divided carbon); or (d) a ceramic layer; and (e) a layer of crystal fabric material. The cards may be dual interface smart cards which can be read in a contactless manner and/or via contacts.
Spar cap and production method
A spar cap for a rotor blade of a wind power installation, having a longitudinal extent from a first end to a second end, a transverse extent orthogonal to the longitudinal extent, and a thickness orthogonal to the longitudinal extent and to the transverse extent. A method for producing a spar cap as mentioned at the outset. The spar cap has a longitudinal extent from a first end to a second end, a transverse extent orthogonal to the longitudinal extent, and a thickness orthogonal to the longitudinal extent and to the transverse extent, at least two tiers of a first fiber composite material, and at least one tier of a second fiber composite material, wherein the first fiber composite material has a matrix material and/or fibers which is/are different from that/those of the second fiber composite material, the second fiber composite material is disposed in a portion adjacent to the second end, in the direction of the thickness between the at least two tiers of the first fiber composite material, and the at least one tier of the second fiber composite material terminates ahead of the second end.
FIRE-RETARDANT PANEL WITH FRAME
Fire-retardant panels that include: a frame with multiple holes that reduce heat conduction through the panel; or a frame that includes two portions separated by a layer of fire-resistant material (e.g., gypsum, calcium silicate, or gypsum board). Some embodiments include skins (e.g., sheet metal) or insulation (e.g., between skin and fire-resistant material, for instance, within the frame). In particular embodiments, the fire-resistant material is (e.g., midway) between: two skins, two layers of insulation, two portions of the frame, or a combination thereof. The portions of the frame can be: sheet metal, attached (e.g., screwed) to the skin(s) or to each other, or extend around the perimeter. The frame can include: various elongated members, (e.g., parallel) bends, or holes that are: in at least one row, elongated, or slots (e.g., parallel to each other or to the skin).

Wet surface indication
A product (20) for use on a surface or as part of a surface, the product comprising: a first layer (22) which carries an indication; and a second layer (26) which overlies at least a portion of the first layer (22), the second layer (26) comprising a porous polymer; wherein the second layer (26) is opaque when dry such that the indication is masked and transparent when wet such that the indication is revealed.
FLEXIBLE POLYUREAS FOR FLEXIBLE PACKAGING ADHESIVE WITHOUT AROMATIC AMINE MIGRATION
Provided is an adhesive comprising a reaction product of (A) an aliphatic polyisocyanate having a molecular weight of from 132 to 700; and (B) a polyaspartate comprising a reaction product of (B1) a polyamine having a molecular weight of at least 240, and (B2) a Michael addition receptor, wherein viscosity @23 C. according to ASTM D1084-16, remains below 150 cps after four hours, and wherein the adhesive develops an acceptable bond strength to a substrate, defined as having a minimum of 150 g/in. measured @23 C. according to ASTM D 1876-01 or substrate tear, in less than five days after the substrate is laminated with the adhesive. The inventive flexible packaging adhesives are free of aromatic amines and may find use in multilayer laminates for a variety of industries, including the food processing, cosmetics, and detergents industries.
FLOOR ELEMENT FOR FORMING A FLOOR COVERING AND A FLOOR COVERING
A floor element for forming a floor covering, wherein the floor element comprises a decorative layer, a support layer, and an intermediate layer disposed between the decorative layer and the support layer, wherein the decorative layer is made of a brittle material, wherein the floor element comprises edges provided with coupling elements adapted to cooperate with coupling elements of an adjacent similar floor element in said floor covering and wherein the intermediate layer comprises at least one edge that is offset relative to a respective edge of the decorative layer.
Transaction and ID cards having selected texture and coloring
Cards made in accordance with the invention include a decorative layer attached to a core layer, where the decorative layer is designed to provide selected color(s) and/or selected texture(s) to a surface of the metal cards. At least one of the decorative layers is a layer derived from plant matter (e.g., wood). The cards may be dual interface smart cards that can be read in a contactless manner and/or via contacts.
