Gas tube for EGR cooler having improved anti-corrosive characteristics
A gas tube for an EGR cooler has such a structure that a metal plate having a flat plate shape is bent in a tube shape. The metal plate includes a core material, a sheath material clad on one surface of the core material or on both surfaces thereof, and an intermediate material clad between the core material and the sheath material so as to prevent magnesium from diffusing from the core material to the sheath material. The core material includes copper (Cu), silicon (Si), iron (Fe), magnesium (Mg), manganese (Mn), titanium (Ti), and aluminum (Al).
ALUMINIUM ALLOY FIN STOCK MATERIAL
The invention relates to a rolled fin stock material from an 3xxx-series aluminium alloy comprising, in wt. %, Mn 0.7% to 2.0%, Si 0.4% to 1.5%, Zn up to 4%, Fe up to 0.8%, Zr 0.02% to 0.40%, Sc 0.01% to 0.6%, Ni up to 0.3%, Cu up to 0.5%, Mg up to 2%, Cr up to 0.3%, Ti up to 0.3%, the balance aluminium and tolerable impurities. The invention further relates to a brazed assembly of components incorporating such a fin stock material.
Method for manufacturing a clad sheet product
The invention concerns a method for the manufacturing of a clad sheet product comprising a core layer (6) and at least one cladding layer, the method comprising rolling an assembly of a core layer and at least one cladding layer and reducing the thickness to a desired gauge, the core layer being made of an aluminium alloy, the at least one cladding layer comprising a centre section (2) and at least two edge sections (4, 5) positioned at opposite sides of the centre section (2) along the edges of the at least one cladding layer, the centre section being made of a material being an aluminium alloy or a composite material comprising a matrix of aluminium or an aluminium alloy, the edge sections along (4, 5) the edges being made of a material different from the material of the centre section, wherein the edge sections (4, 5) are cut off during or after the rolling. The invention further concerns a cladding plate useful in the method.
Tailored panel assembly and method of manufacturing the same
A panel assembly is formed by a plurality of bonds between two sheet materials in a face to face relationship to form a preform. The plurality of bonds define a closed perimeter region between the two sheet materials and an open perimeter region between the two sheet materials. The preform may be formed into a predefined shape. Pressurized fluid is applied through an inlet into the open perimeter region to expand the preform. The pressurized fluid expands the open perimeter region such that the two sheet materials expand in an opposing direction, thereby defining an expanded open perimeter region. The closed perimeter region between the two sheet materials remains vacant of the pressurized fluid such that the closed perimeter region is not expanded. The expanded open perimeter region is filled with a filler material for improving a performance characteristic of the panel assembly, e.g., strength, sound absorption, or stiffness.
FEEDSTOCKS FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING, AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
Some variations provide a method of making an additively manufactured metal component, comprising: providing a feedstock that includes a high-vapor-pressure metal; exposing a first amount of the feedstock to an energy source for melting; and solidifying the melt layer, thereby generating a solid layer of an additively manufactured metal component. The metal-containing feedstock is enriched with a higher concentration of the high-vapor-pressure metal compared to its concentration in the additively manufactured metal component. The high-vapor-pressure metal may be selected from Mg, Zn, Li, Al, Cd, Hg, K, Na, Rb, Cs, Mn, Be, Ca, Sr, or Ba, for example. Additively manufactured metal components are provided. Metal-containing feedstocks for additive manufacturing are also disclosed, wherein concentration of at least one high-vapor-pressure metal in the feedstock is selected based on a desired concentration of the high-vapor-pressure metal in an additively manufactured metal component derived from the metal-containing feedstock. Various feedstock compositions are disclosed.

The aluminum member of the present disclosure includes a mother material containing aluminum or an aluminum alloy, and an anodic oxide film on the surface of the mother material, in which the arithmetical mean roughness Ra, the mean length of roughness curve elements RSm, and the Hunter whiteness of the aluminum member, measured from the surface side of the anodic oxide film, are 0.1 μm or more, 10 μm or less, and 60 to 90, respectively.
CORROSION RESISTANT HIGH STRENGTH BRAZING SHEET
An apparatus, material and method for forming a brazing sheet has a high strength core bonded with corrosion protection layer on the coolant side and/or layers on both airside and coolant side. The material enables heat exchanger components, such as tube, header, plate, etc., for applications, such as automotive heat exchangers, that require high fatigue life as well as high service life in a corrosive environment.

The invention relates to a brazed heat exchanger incorporating an aluminium alloy baseplate and wherein the baseplate is made from an aluminium alloy having a composition, in wt. %, of: Mn 0.8-1.8, Cu 0.15-1.20, Si 0.25-1.30, Mg 0.10-0.60, Fe≤0.8, Zn≤0.3, Ti≤0.20, Cr≤0.25, Zr≤0.25, balance aluminium and impurities.

An aluminum alloy brazing sheet used for brazing in an inert gas atmosphere without using flux includes a core material of aluminum or aluminum alloy, and a brazing material of aluminum alloy including Si of 4.0 mass % to 13.0 mass % and cladding one side surface or both side surfaces of the core material. One or both of the core material and the brazing material includes any one or two or more types of X atoms (X is Mg, Li, Be, Ca, Ce, La, Y, and Zr). The aluminum alloy brazing sheet is a brazing sheet in which oxide particles including the X atoms and having a volume change ratio of 0.99 or lower with respect to an oxide film before brazing heating are formed on a surface thereof, by brazing heating.
