Respiratory early warning scoring systems and methods
An early warning scoring system and method include a computing device, a plurality of sensors for acquiring physiological signals from a patient, wherein the sensors are functionally connected to the computing device, and at least one alarm adapted to output an alert upon an early warning score (EWS) exceeding a predetermined level. The computing device receives the physiological signals from the sensors, analyzes the physiological signals, and based on the analyzed signals, calculates the early warning score, and compares to the early warning score to predetermined limits and, if the score is outside the limits, triggers an alarm or actuates or modifies a treatment or medical intervention.
STRESS REDUCTION AND SLEEP PROMOTION SYSTEM
The present invention provides systems, methods, and articles for stress reduction and sleep promotion. A stress reduction and sleep promotion system includes at least one remote device and an article for temperature conditioning a surface. The stress reduction and sleep promotion system includes at least one body sensor, at least one remote server, and/or a pulsed electromagnetic frequency device in other embodiments.
CATHETER, INFLATABLE BALLOON FOR A CATHETER
A medical device includes a catheter and a balloon, the device including a first lumen for injection of a first volume of a treatment solution and a second lumen for injection of a second volume including a gas or a liquid for inflation of a balloon. The balloon is fixed on a portion of the distal end of the catheter, the balloon including an opening to permit entry of the second volume in order to ensure the inflation thereof via the second lumen and including a predefined inflation shape defining a channel that opens out laterally with respect to the main axis of the catheter.
Visualization of reconstructed handstate information
Method and apparatus for rendering a visual representation based on a musculoskeletal representation. The method comprises updating the musculoskeletal representation based, at least in part, on a plurality of neuromuscular signals recorded from a user, wherein the musculoskeletal representation is updated based at least in part on: position information describing a spatial relationship between two or more connected segments of the musculoskeletal representation, and force information describing a force exerted by at least one segment of the musculoskeletal representation, and rendering, via a user interface, the visual representation based on the updated musculoskeletal representation, wherein the visual representation includes a visual indication of the position information and a visual indication of the force information.
Method and system for facilitating the transition between a conscious and unconscious state
A system and method for facilitating and maintaining various states of a user consciousness, including the transition between a conscious and unconscious state, is provided. The system and method include use of a smart device having a user interface, a biometric sensor coupled to a user and configured to transmit the user's biometric data to the smart device and an environmental sensor configured to transmit environmental data to the smart device. The smart device controls one or more environmental systems proximate the user and an audio/visual device proximate the user to facilitate transitioning the state of the user.

COMBINATIONAL OUTPUT SLEEP SYSTEM
A sleep system may include a control system for a bed device that includes platform upon which an individual may be supported. The sleep system may include multiple input sources that trigger combinational output action patterns with respect to the control system and bed device. The multiple input sources may include sensors positioned to collect input data with respect to the subject, bed device, and/or surrounding environment such as motion sensors, presence sensors, proximity sensors, sound sensors, temperature sensors, biological sensors, and/or light sensors.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING A PERIPHERAL NERVE BLOCK
A system for infusing medication into a mammalian subject is provided. The system includes an injection system for controlling a flow of fluid from a fluid reservoir to a needle. A sensor is provided that detects a characteristic indicative of the fluid pressure in the needle. The injection system controls the flow of fluid to the needle in response to the characteristic detected by the sensor and the sensor continuously detects the characteristic as the needle is inserted into the subject. The system further includes a conductive element for providing electric nerve stimulation, wherein the system provides electric nerve stimulation in response to the sensor detecting a pressure exceeding an upper limit.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING MUSCLE RELAXATION OF A PATIENT AND CORRESPONDING PATIENT CARE SYSTEM
A method of monitoring depth of muscle relaxation of a patient includes determining a sedative drug effect of one or more sedative drugs on a patient based on at least one of drug delivery information and measured nervous system information. The sedative drug effect is then compared to a sedation criterion and, if the sedative drug effect fulfills the sedation criterion, then a neuromuscular transmission (NMT) monitor is controlled to apply a series of stimulation to a nerve of a patient and muscle responses of the patient are measured to obtain an NMT baseline. A neuromuscular blocking agent (NMBA) notice is then generated on a user interface after obtaining the NMT baseline.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVING PATIENT HEALTH
An integrated system for monitoring conditions of a patient and adjusting treatment for the patient based on comparisons of acquired data and historical data related to the patient includes a central processor, an oxygen concentrator, a level of consciousness monitor and a mobile device. The oxygen concentrator, the level of consciousness monitor and the mobile device are in communication with the central processor. The central processor includes a sleep database having baseline sleep information for a generic patient. The oxygen concentrator is configured to provide a flow of concentrated oxygen to the patient. The level of consciousness monitor is configured to collect data regarding the patient's state of wakefulness, awareness and alertness. The central processor collects data from the oxygen concentrator, the level of consciousness monitor and the mobile device and adjusts the oxygen concentrator based on comparisons of the baseline sleep information and the collected data.
