A method for manufacturing a discontinuous vacuum-metalized thin film includes the following steps: step 1: coating a corona surface of a flexible thin film (1) with a longitudinal discontinuous stripping layer; step 2: coating the corona surface and the stripping layer with a metal layer (3); and step 3: removing the stripping layer and the metal layer (3) on the stripping layer to obtain a discontinuous vacuum-metalized thin film. A method for manufacturing a discontinuous vacuum-metalized wire, a discontinuous vacuum-metalized thin film and a discontinuous vacuum-metalized wire are further disclosed.
SUPERHYDROPHOBIC PLATFORM FOR SENSING URINE METABOLITES AND TOXINS
Disclosed herein is a composite superhydrophobic material comprising: a substrate layer comprising a set of positively or negatively charged functional groups; a metal nanoparticle coating on top of the substrate layer, comprising a set of negatively or positively charged functional groups; a metal layer on top of the metal nanoparticle coating; and a first superhydrophobic layer on top of the metal layer. Also disclosed herein is a method of making said material, and a method of predicting increased risk of spontaneous miscarriage using said material.
Component produced by additive manufacturing
The present invention relates generally to components prepared by additive manufacturing (AM) methods, along with methods of preparing such components by AM. More especially, there is provided a process for the production of a component of an ignition device using an AM method by forming a layer of metal or alloy on a surface of a metal or alloy substrate; fusing the layer to the substrate; and repeating the addition of such layers upon one another to form a deposited metal or alloy attachment on the substrate.

To provide a sliding member including an overlay capable of realizing good fatigue resistance while preventing interlayer peeling. A sliding member including an overlay formed of an alloy plating film of Bi and Sb, and the overlay is bonded to a lining formed of a copper alloy via an intermediate layer containing Ag as a main component.
Electromagnetic relay
An electromagnetic relay includes a fixed contact module including a fixed contact, a movable contact module including a movable contact disposed to face the fixed contact, an armature formed of a magnetic material and configured to move the movable contact module to bring the movable contact into and out of contact with the fixed contact, and an electromagnet configured to generate a magnetic field to move the armature. At least one of the fixed contact module and the movable contact module includes a joint at which different components are joined by riveting, and a film with a thermal conductivity higher than, the thermal conductivity of the fixed contact module and the movable contact module is formed on at least one of the fixed contact module and the movable contact module including the joint.
METALLIC FOAM BODY WITH CONTROLLED GRAIN SIZE ON ITS SURFACE, PROCESS FOR ITS PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF
The invention relates to a metallic foam body, comprising (a) a metallic foam body substrate made of at least one metal or metal alloy A; and (b) a layer of a metal or metal alloy B present on at least a part of the surface of the metallic foam body substrate (a), wherein A and B differ in their chemical composition and/or in the grain size of the metal or metal alloy, and wherein the metal or metal alloy A and B is selected from a group consisting of Ni, Cr, Co, Cu, Ag, and any alloy thereof; obtainable by a process comprising the steps (i) provision of a porous organic polymer foam; (ii) deposition of at least one metal or metal alloy A on the porous organic polymer foam; (iii) burning off of the porous organic polymer foam to obtain the metallic foam body substrate (a); and (iv) deposition by electroplating of the metallic layer (b) of a metal or metal alloy B at least on a part of the surface of the metallic foam body (a). The invention moreover relates to a process for the production of the metallic foam body and a use of the metallic foam body.

Provided is a plating film containing Au and Tl, including Tl oxides including Tl.sub.2O on a surface of the plating film, a ratio of Tl atoms constituting Tl.sub.2O to a total of Tl atoms constituting the Tl oxides and Tl atoms constituting Tl simple substances on the surface being 40% or more.

A surface-treated plated material is provided. The surface-treated plated material can suppress generation of whiskers, maintain good solderability and low contact resistance even when exposed to an elevated temperature environment, and have lower insertion force for terminals/connectors. The surface-treated plated material comprises a substrate provided with an upper layer, and the upper layer comprises a plated material containing Sn or In. A surface of the plated material contains at least one compound represented by a certain general formula and at least one compound represented by a certain general formula. One or more compounds selected from a group D of constituent compounds represented by certain general formulae are further applied onto a surface on the upper layer side.
