COMPOSITE BALLISTIC ARMOR
20170254625 · 2017-09-07 · ·

A composite ballistic panel provides cost-effective ballistic protection against projectiles. The composite ballistic panel comprises a composite ballistic assembly with an impact/strip layer that alters the projectile during striking contact with the projectile by flattening the projectile, distorting the shape of the projectile, reducing rotation of the projectile, reducing the velocity of the projectile, and inducing yaw to the projectile; a non-ballistic deflection layer that forms a cavity to inhibit propagation of the projectile's shock wave; and a containment layer that stops and captures the projectile within the composite ballistic assembly. Additionally, the composite ballistic panel may have a protection layer and a boundary edge to enhance capture of the projectile and ballistic characteristics, and an intermediate layer that acts as spacer between layers.

Soundproof Material

A soundproof material may comprise, in order: a first electrically conductive ferromagnetic layer, a charged insulator layer, and a second electrically conductive ferromagnetic layer. A charged site at the charged insulator layer may be electrically insulated from the first electrically conductive ferromagnetic layer and/or the second electrically conductive ferromagnetic layer. When a sound causes vibration of any among the first electrically conductive ferromagnetic layer, the charged insulator layer, and/or the second electrically conductive ferromagnetic layer, this causes alteration of a magnetic field at the first electrically conductive ferromagnetic layer and/or the second electrically conductive ferromagnetic layer, soundproofing being carried out when acoustic energy of the sound wave is lost as thermal energy.

Body impact protection system

A body impact protection system includes an inner layer and an impact force dampening and defusing structure. The inner layer includes a material composition and is adjacent to a body part when the body impact protection system is worn. The impact force dampening and defusing structure is juxtaposed to the inner layer and includes a plurality of components. The components function to reduce pressure on the body part from an impact force on a layer by layer basis. Each layer of the system dampens and defuses the impact force such that, by the time it reaches the body part, it has been substantially attenuated and spread over a large area.

This invention relates to a multilayered patch, comprising: a first layer, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer comprising a mixture of: a styrene-based triblock copolymer, a styrene-based diblock copolymer, and at least one hydrocarbon resin selected from the group of aromatic modified aliphatic hydrocarbon resins, partially hydrogenated resins, and fully hydrogenated resins; wherein the first layer comprises a metal or a metal alloy, or wherein the first layer comprises a polymer and has a strain at break of at least 10%, the strain at break being measured according to ASTM D638 or ASTM D882. The multilayered patch exhibits favourable properties as sealing material for vehicle body holes against ingression of noise, moisture and/or dirt. Also described are methods of sealing and methods of manufacturing the multilayered patch.

Coating agent for rubber-coated cylinder head gasket and cylinder head gasket

A coating agent for a rubber-coated cylinder head gasket contains a lubricant and a urethane resin. The lubricant is unsintered polytetrafluoroethylene resin particles having an average primary particle size of 1 μm or less. The amount of the unsintered polytetrafluoroethylene resin particles in a solid content is 30 to 80% by volume. The present invention provides a coating agent for a rubber-coated cylinder head gasket that can form a coat that is highly wear-resistant under high contact pressure and high temperature conditions and with which a rubber layer is less likely to stick to the seal face of the cylinder block or the cylinder head after the use under high contact pressure and high temperature conditions, and a cylinder head gasket obtained using the coating agent.
