SANDWICH COMPOSITE BOARD AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

The disclosure relates to a sandwich composite board and a preparation method thereof. The sandwich composite board includes, from top to bottom, an upper panel layer, a core material layer, and a lower panel layer, wherein the upper panel layer and the lower panel layer are glass or fiber reinforced resin-based composite sheets; and the core material layer is composed of an aerogel, a resin, and an expandable microsphere foaming agent. Method (1) includes: heating and melting the resin to obtain slurry A, cooling the same, adding the aerogel and the expandable microsphere foaming agent thereto, and uniformly mixing the same to obtain slurry B, then flat-laying the lower panel layer, coating or printing with the slurry B, then laying the upper panel layer and hot press molding the same. Method (2) includes: uniformly mixing an aerogel, a resin and an expandable microsphere foaming agent to obtain mixture A, placing the mixture A into a non-woven bag, sealing to obtain a core material B, flat-laying the lower panel layer, flat-laying the core material B, then laying the upper panel layer, and hot press molding the same.

Low density microspheres

Low-density thermoplastic expandable microspheres are disclosed. Various low-density structures, in particular, sandwich panels, based on foam prepared from the low-density microspheres, are also disclosed. Process of preparing low-density polymeric microspheres, per se, and the corresponding low-density structures, based on the microsphere foam, are also disclosed.

SANDWICH WALL CONSTRUCTION FORMED OF SPACED-APART SLABS WITH INSULATION IN-BETWEEN HAVING A HIGH CARBON CONTENT

The invention describes the construction of more or less thin house walls, of which the load-bearing panels are stabilized in such a way that they have an insulating middle layer, the middle layer containing carbon, which is brought in as insulation material by means of suitable binders such as cement, geopolymers, resins or foams or glass. In particular, biochar mortars and biochar foams are used, which with the help of fiber reinforcement of the outer stone slices become self-supporting wall and facade elements, which are able to store more carbon than what is produced in the form of CO2, escaping into the atmosphere. Fiber-stabilized stone disks with an insulating middle layer based on pyrogenic or otherwise manufactured or extracted carbon are constructed symmetrically and dimensioned in such a way that they can absorb loads and buckling forces with a comparatively very low weight. For this reason, in addition to its high carbon content, the insulation material should preferably have sufficient tensile stability.

A retrofitted window is disclosed which includes a substantially transparent aerogel film laminated on a glass windowpane, the aerogel film being embedded with randomly dispersed nanoparticles of vanadium dioxide (VO.sub.2) core and silicon dioxide (SiO.sub.2) shell, wherein the vanadium dioxide (VO.sub.2) core transitions between an insulator phase and a metal phase at a predetermined phase-transition temperature, and a volume fraction of the nanoparticles in the aerogel film is approximately between 0.001% and 0.05%.

System to support multiple battery packs of different capacity and a sensor system

Methods and apparatus are discussed for an electric powered personal transportation vehicle with electric motors powered by one or more batteries. A set of universal battery mounting hole locations and a reserved space for one or more battery housings exist on a board for the personal transportation vehicle. The reserved space on the board for the one or more battery housings that house one or more battery packs is set to not interfere with an operation of the motors or the wheels. A first battery pack containing the one or more batteries differs in at least one of i) a different amp-hour capacity, ii) a different length, width, or height, and iii) a different shape than another battery pack designed to be physically contained in the one or more battery housings and electrically connect with corresponding electrical connections in the one or more battery housings.

Pre-stressed glass roll

A glass roll includes at least one glass film and one intermediate material one on top of the other in at least two layers onto a winding core. The glass film layers are held in place by the intermediate material layers. The glass roll is produced with a method including provision of a glass film, a winding core and a compressible intermediate material. At least one inside layer of the intermediate material is wound onto the winding core. The glass film and the intermediate material are wound onto the winding core in such a manner that the glass film is wound onto the winding core in alternating layers with the intermediate material. The intermediate material and/or the glass film is wound at a tensile stress acting in a longitudinal direction which causes a compression of the intermediate material and holds the glass film end in place on the glass roll.
